I have a bug filed about this as well. I started from the warning message
about the link rather than df output.

issues with duplicate entries in /etc/mtab

2010-12-03 Thread Rudolf Kastl
Hello!

As you can see with a current rawhide install you might end up with
filesystems that have multible entries in mtab:
http://fpaste.org/Z7Ne/

df also outputs the filesystems redundantly.

If the system is to be changed and mtab is going to be removed all the
tools writing to and reading from it have to be looked at as well i
guess.
I am not sure if the right people are already aware of the issue.

kind regards,
Rudolf Kastl

dmesg|grep mounts

would tell you more.

Could you explain in more detail? On my F14 it isn't very informative:

dmesg | grep mounts
no output

dmesg | grep mount
EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.

No, it isn't ... in relation to systemd in F15, it is necessary
currently to have /etc/mtab just as a symlink to /proc/self/mounts.
