 What is the context? Platform,
 kernel, library, driver, build?

Due to space limitations and deemed unneeded, mesa-dri-drivers rpm was removed
from the OLPC builds with the mentioned olpc-os-builder commit.
However, os5 does includes mesa-dri-drivers-8.0.1-2.fc17.i686 and additional
mesa infra.

Thanks for pointing that out.
We only want to include a commit such as that one if mesa-dri-drivers
is removed upstream in newer Fedora (as was true when that commit was
made). So we'll have to investigate and fix this upstream.

If you're interested in helping out, the next step is to figure out
which package has the new dependency on mesa-dri-drivers. Then look in
the git changelog for that package and see if there is an explanatory
note, and then do the same in the spec file changelog.
Then, based on the outcome, we could file a ticket in Fedora asking
for the dep chain to be broken.

Thanks,
Daniel

Ah, right. So we're still relatively early in the dev phase for F-17
and we're just starting to review the dependencies. A lot of the core
apps are starting to depend on clutter for some functionality, so for
example totem has options for clutter visualisation which will pull
all that stack in.

I have on my todo list to start reviewing this in the coming weeks.

mesa-libGLw.git has no reference to mesa-dri-drivers removal or addition (that
I can find).
Actually I do not think that mesa-dri-drivers removal was an upstream change.
As a matter of fact yum still complains about missing mesa-dri-drivers in F14
builds

mesa-libGLw.git doesn't sound like the right package. What about mesa.git?

It was definitely removed for F15/F16 and if I remember right it is
noted in the mesa.spec changelog about being moved to comps.
