This doesn't seem to be 100% true.
An OS build with pt does include various files for pt_BR.
But if I make an OS build with pt,pt_BR I do get a few new files,
particularly firefox's langpack-pt-BR

So I guess we don't fully understand just yet.

Whats the locale that needs adding then? de? de_DE?

I did build my builds with including 'de' - there exist de_AT (Austria)
and de_DE (Germany) and a few more de_* - as Austria and Germany have
requested inclusion you could just include those.

Yes that is how I understand it as well.

Having pt,pt_BR in the olpc-os-builder config file seem to be not
needed then - 'pt' would be enough.

According to locale -a output on 11.2.0-7, ht_HT is already
available, and it seems to work (not many strings are available, but
according to kreyol.com the offered translation of Write as Ekri is
accurate). So I think we may have misdiagnosed (or mis-guessed) the
problem in 10.1.3 with Kreyol translations in that other thread, as
ht_HT should also be included there.

You are right on that one. ht was included in the build all the time. So
I think just the CP command line command did choke when setting.

Simon

Also, as there are no XO laptops which come with the manufacturing
data set to en_UK, you will have to hack the build, adjust the
manufacturing data of all the laptops, or manually change the locale
 after installing the systems.

I would have thought there's be a lot of cross over between en_AU and
en_UK as in terms of spelling and similar related things the language
is pretty much the same with the only major difference being keyboard
layout. So from that point of view what is the impact in terms of
size.

There is hopefully one planned this year but the people involved in

Tough call, indeed. Almost exactly 2 years ago a few hundred XO-1s were
shipped to UK enthusiasts, and I'd certainly welcome them making more noise:

 http://www.olpcMAP.net/?go=uk

Likewise Canada's ~11,000 XOs  (~6000 XO-1s shipped in 2008 and 2009;
and ~5000 XO-1.5s with or en route to http://olpcCanada.com) will
generally prefer en_UK over en_US. Other less royal Canadians don't
care :)

(Thanks a lot for the heads-up Simon:-)

Yes, I'd also love to see German included again.

Due to a variety of issues we won't be able to do a whole lot at the
Austrian pilot project this year but the 2011-2012 school year (when the
project class is going to be in 4th grade, the last one of primary school) I
definitely want to make a strong push again. And being able to use the
latest Sugar version in German would definitely help here:-)

Cheers,
Christoph
