It is definitely a kernel bug, I'm quite sure. And, I also think it's related to the USB subsystem. Could you try to burn the ISO image to a DVD disc and boot off it? Going to do the same here -- Fabio Erculiani

No, I am afraid to say that the problem is not solved yet. I am still working on it, I restricted the area to the USB controller driver ehci-hcd. -- Fabio Erculiani
