Hi, I have successfully learned how to call C++ method from QML. I would like to see a practical example how to call QML function from C++ method. All examples and instructions which I have found from web have been such kind of codes where all is done from main loop. I'm not sure is my approach right, but in my program I would first like to call C++ method from QML and C++ function will retrive data. After the data retrive is ready the C++ method will call other C++ method which will update the screen (e.g. multiple labels). I would be very happy to get help with this problem and I think that the begginners will also fighting with this kind of problems. Happy Holidays! Hi, hope this is the right place for bug reports? Couldn't find anywhere else to report them.. Anyway bug #1: - The timezone for Android apps running under the emulator seems to be running in UTC, disregarding the Sailfish setting. Bug #2 (worse): When setting proxy for a WiFi connection you can set the http:// proxy ok, but going forward trying to set the https:// the field will clear after entering the first . in the proxy host name :-( Feature request: Please add Caldav support for the calendar. There was some public (or at least semi-public) announcement that download counters in harbour are going to work some time soon. Hence they don't work right now. [SailfishDevel] ContextMenu doesn't invoke a signal handler
Hi, I have a case where a column contains multiple Comboboxes and each of these boxes have a different number of menuitems inside the Contextmenu. Now everything works fine if the contextmenu only contains a few items and the focus stays on the current page. However when there's more items to be shown and it needs to show the items on a different page, then I'm not able get the contextmenu to invoke onActivated signal handler (items are listed though). I'm not quite sure what seems to be causing this? This is an older project which I now started to reshape and noticed this issue. At least I get it to work properly in the first release of the SDK. I can confirm having both of those issues. But the weird thing is that when a friend was showing me his Jolla, I'm quite sure he had Twitter account showing up on the notification screen stuff from Twitter on it. Twitter is working fine for me, my google account doesn't work though – I log in and when looking again 5 minutes later I'm logged out again. I have google account and twitter both working fine. Hello list, I got my Jolla yesterday. Today i discovered that registering to Yandex store doesn't work. The captcha doesn't show up in the registration, and if i'm using phone as a verification method it just says wrong landcode or something like that. I can also confirm that Twitter and Google account adding won't work. Today i discovered that registering to Yandex store doesn't work. The captcha doesn't show up in the registration, and if i'm using phone as a verification method it just says "wrong landcode" or something like that. I can also confirm that Twitter and Google account adding won't work. Folders within folders appear what looks to be totally randomly. I have an IMAP folder named Lists, which contains sub-folders for the mailing lists I subscribe to. They show scattered around in the list. Indented, but not under their parent folder.- From address doesn't contain name, only email. When you send an email From is "u...@example.com" instead of "Jolla User u...@example.com". When you've filled out the details when you started using the phone, why not use them; or even better have it as a setting per mail account.- In-Reply-To missing: When you reply to a mail no In-Reply-To header is added which breaks threading in mail clients that support that.- Does it honor Reply-To: When replying to a mail the client always uses From instead of Reply-To.- Select folders to sync and notify about. I'm not the first to have that feature request ;)- When deleting mails on IMAP they are moved to Trash folder, but not marked as read. Minor detail, but would be nice.- Gets stuck or shows no progress when loading large folders. A spinner in the middle would be enough.- Cover shows 0 unread although both current folder and inbox has unread msgs. Browser:- Opens last visited instead of homepage (or cannot set homepage).- Can't change default search engine to other than the predefined 3. I prefer to use https://duckduckgo.com/ but the browser doesn't support adding it as search engine. I guess https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Adding_search_engines_from_web_pages is what's used. The browser in N9(50) supports that FWIW ;)- Changing URL, finding bookmarks etc. very unintuitive unless you've read the guide. It could be a simple matter of changing the icon. An icon that shows the number of tabs doesn't indicate that that's where you edit the URL, send a link etc.Accounts:- Error handling and reporting!- Twitter: Says Creating account then nothing. Doesn't ask for credentials.- XMPP: Silently fails on certificate error. Doesn't show up as an option in messages. Notes:- When sharing a note by email it gets sent as an attached VNOTE with the body base64 encoded and with a vcf extension which I thought was reserved for vCards?. [SailfishDevel] How to maximize an application from CoverAction?
Hello sailors, just a short question, but I have no idea how to do it. Problem: In my application I want to offer, that a user can jump directly to the search with a CoverAction, same like Jolla Store is doing. Internally it pushes my SearchPage on the PageStack so no problem there, but I don't know how to maximize the app from CoverAction's onTriggered? I thought it's done automatically, if I push a new Page on the PageStack, but I just stay in the multitasking view. So, how can I do that? Some help would be really welcome! However, almost none of the articles I have seen relating to Jolla mention Python. I assumed Nokia believed Python was an ideal language for an open system that was easily modifiable by others. I get the impression the language is C++. This is more difficult than Java and possibly also Objective C. How does Jolla expect their system to be adapted as open if the language developers have to deal with is C++, with Python a vague afterthought? I would say nothing is harder then Objective C ;-), but to not start a rant - I don't think you will find a developer that never used C++ (or at least not after any technical university I know). Also note that most of the languages are based on C++ (including Java), so the syntax shouldn't be too shocking ;-). Python on the other hand is more similar to Pascal which is less popular. I won't talk about Objective C, because I don't know any similar language ;-). Probably due to the fact that Apple was creating it in the same time as C++ was developed... Having said that.
