 Qtquick.controls/dialogs are not an ordinary 3rd party lib. It is an
 official part of Qt since version 5.1. And it is possible to apply styles
 since version 5.3, so they do not look different.

 Sailfish use version 5.2 for now.
 I think this could be a problem.

 Would like to know Jolla's point of view on this point before try to
 port it myself. (this should not be that hard, because I have found already
 repository of nemo/mer version.)

Sorry, have already got it in comments on openrepos.

I woud like to use actually not Glacier UI it self, but only
qtquick-controls for another software (GCompris), because controls are
absent vom either mer and SailfishOS.
So, thank you, that you have already done this job and adopt them.

Hello.
After some further search I have found this project
https://github.com/nemomobile/qtquickcontrols-nemo
and there is also binaries for Jolla
http://locusf.blogspot.fi/2014/03/glacier-ui-homescreen-on-jolla.html

glacier-ui it self is apparently not in development any more, but
qtuickcontrols is here and we can try to use it.

I should also have said that despite the fact that I can now compile
again, the message about clock skew and the time of the makefile is
still there. But now I can at least progress without the compilation
stopping at the point of transfer.

Re: [SailfishDevel] Read-only TextArea: Always keep the lines added last visible

2015-01-07 Thread Sami Kananoja
Hi,

This should do the trick:

SilicaFlickable {
id: flickable
anchors.fill: parent
contentHeight: textAreaLog.height
contentY: Math.max(0, contentHeight - height)
TextArea {
id: textAreaLog
readOnly: true
text: "Test"
width: flickable.width
}
}

The contentY binding is the one that keeps the last line visible (but has some
annoying side effects if you want to scroll the content manually - fixing that
is left as home work :) )

Subject: [SailfishDevel] Read-only TextArea: Always keep the lines added
last visible

Hi all,

I was trying to use a TextArea as a UI-visible debug log, so I can see
connection error details while I'm out using my app. The basic principle
is that the python code (pyotherside) will make a server request and
send detailed answers to the text area, which displays them. Everything
works find, except the text area doesn't auto scroll to the end when
there is more content than fits on the page. autoScrollenabled seems to
mean something entirely different, selectionStart start seems to be
read-only. I have put up an example that demonstrates, at the end of the
mail.

Does anyone know of the magic incantations needed to make sure the
latest lines are always visible?

import QtQuick 2.0
import Sailfish.Silica 1.0

Page {
id: textAreaLogExample

SilicaFlickable {
TextArea {
id: textAreaLog
readOnly: true
text: "Test"
autoScrollEnabled: true
}
}

Timer {
interval: 500; running: true; repeat: true
onTriggered: {
textAreaLog.text += "\n" + new Date().getUTCSeconds() + " Log"
}
}
}

As I need to press on, and in the absence of any replies, I've set
this :-
VBoxManage guestproperty set "SailfishOS Emulator"
"/VirtualBox/GuestAdd/VBoxService/--timesync-interval" 50

I tried with a value of 10 but that produced an error in the emulator
to say the value was too low and that 50 was the minimum.

I can now compile again.

Re: [SailfishDevel] defining version number only once

2015-01-07 Thread Luca Donaggio
This is the way I solved #1:

a) in your .yaml add the lines:

QMakeOptions:
- VERSION=%{version}

b) in your .pro add the lines:

# App version
DEFINES += APP_VERSION=\"\\\"$${VERSION}\\\"\"

c) in your .c's main() function add the lines:

QScopedPointer app(SailfishApp::application(argc,
argv));

app->setApplicationVersion(QString(APP_VERSION));

d) now your app's version is available in QML through

Qt.application.version

TextArea (or anything similar) gives me nice line wrap (some lines are
very long). If need I can also omit newlines and make even better use of
available space.

I tried cursorPosition before, doesn't work (see example below). On iOS,
I set the selection after the text and then scroll to that selection,
that keeps the view scrolled to the end. The strange thing is that on
sailfish I can't even scroll the text manually, do I have to enable
something?

Thanks for your input!

[SailfishDevel] defining version number only once

2015-01-07 Thread Alfonso Martone
Sorry to ask here, but I wasn't able to get some official guidelines.

1) Version/Release numbers:

- I have to place them both in the /.yaml /file (for RPM build) and in
some /.h/ or /.qml /source (to show it in some "about" dialog): is there
a way to define the Version/Release numbers in a /single/ file of the
project, making them available to C++, QML and RPM-build ?

2) from time to time my software has to write some output file
(collected data) that the user may use in another app:

- is it correct to save in /$HOME/Documents/ ?

Thanks.
