Thank y'all, which ML would be the correct one? Maybe i am not the only one

[SailfishDevel] Email Application - cannot download attachments - a feature?!

2014-04-10 Thread Simon Bolek
hi there,

so there is this Email Application on my pretty jolla mobile phone. I can
successfully receive and send emails (WOW! this is a great so far), however
when i try to download a nice attachment (e.g. a jpg file) someone sent to
me, this is not possible. I tap on the attachment and the progress bar
begins to progress (so far so good) and at about 3/4 it stops and stays and
does not move and does not move and after a while it tells me, "Failed". It
happens every time in every wlan network with every type of file i get.
This is indeed unlike. Is it possible to deactivate this feature, so i can
download the precious attachments people send me? At the moment this causes
me to use the laptop to check my mail.
Maybe i do something wrong? Settings?

[SailfishDevel] MerSDK VM - "src" folder change (under Windows) not possible

2014-01-14 Thread Simon Bolek
hi,
I have a difficulty in changing src shared folder for VM MerSDK in
QtCreator. It seems impossible right now.
Working on windows 7 with the latest SailfishOS installed.

While installing I set, stupid me, Project Folder to:
C:/path1/path1;C:/path2/path2
thinking QtCreator would understand both. After that started a project and
noticed that QtCreator does not accept that.

Under
Tools->Options->Mer: MerSDK-"Shared Folders"-"src"
I see
"C:/path1/path1;C:/path2/path2"
Also in QtCreator in my particular App under Projects I see System
Environment variable
MER_SSH_SHARED_SRC = C:/path1/path1;C:/path2/path2.

So far so good.
Me thinking change settings -> all is well.
However the following changes did not change anything.

1) in the MerSDK VM under Shared Folders changed:
src1 to C:/path1/path1 or
tried with src, src2 etc.

2) in
C:\PATH_TO\SailfishOS\share\qtcreator\SailfishAlpha3\qtcreator\mersdk.xml
changed SharedSrc to C:/path1/path1 or C:\path1\path1

3) tried to override MER_SSH_SHARED_SRC in the particular project with only
C:/path1/path1 or C:\path1\path1

Nothing helps :( Every time i remove Mer SDK under Options and add it,
first QtCreator sees only the one correct folder C:\path1\path1 , but after
Apply and invoking Options again it shows me
C:/path1/path1;C:/path2/path2.

I also searched in the filesystem C:\ for all files containing string:
C:/path1/path1;C:/path2/path2
or only
C:/path2/path2
there is nothing left in any .ini, .txt, .vbox etc. files.

Any hints? What am I possibly doing wrong. I am not able to compile any
project, as it gets me the error: Project is outside of mer shared src
"C:/path1/path1;C:/path2/path2"

The only way I see, how to work around this, is to delete and install
sailfishos again :(

Re: [SailfishDevel] MobileNetwork / MobileData automatically on after reboot - what the heck?

2014-01-13 Thread Simon Bolek
thank you for prompt answers!

Dalvik enabled - how should i check this?

I turned the MobileData after unpacking the phone, than after updating it
and after agreeing to the Maps license. I do not want to pay for the mobile
data while i am on my way and I do not want to have a flatrate, so it is
explicitly OFF.

I noticed that when I start Maps app, MobileData turns ON. Than I turn it
OFF and than after couple of minutes it closes by itself. In the meantime
it asks me for internet connection every darn couple of seconds - very
annoying. I feel like I don't have control over the device.

Is this a feature of the Maps app that it turns the MobileData ON, or is it
a feature of Jolla after enabling Location, that I agree generally for all
applications to turn MobileData ON when no other connection available?
Because it this is Maps app only the solution for me would be not using it
at the moment - however there is no alternative now. The latter would be
really bad :(

Maybe there is sth else I do wrong which is not related to location
directly(?)

At the moment i feel like coming back to N9 or N950 with my SIM for
stability, but in longer terms this will not work.

Hi, yes i am aware of this syncso...rebooted several hours after

[SailfishDevel] MobileNetwork / MobileData automatically on after reboot - what the heck?

2014-01-13 Thread Simon Bolek
Problem:

After i turned on the Location (BTW waited the whole eternity to gain GPS
signal) and turned the MobileData OFF, i noticed that after reboot
MobileData is activated again!
WHY???
I do not have a mobile data plan on my sim card, so i want it to be
deactivated, and no app whatsoever has rights to turn it on (for that I
could've bought android right away).
Is this a BUG or a FEATURE?

[SailfishDevel] Qt Creator - Custom Process Step - SFTP/SSH/SCP script to Device - Too many authentication failures for root

2013-04-09 Thread Simon Bolek
hi,

In Qt Creator in Sailfish Project
- build against MerSDK-SailfishOS-i486-x86
- run in Mer VM (Virtual Box)
I would like to add a "Custom Process Step" with the SFTP/SCP script
deploying some files to the device.
but when I run one of those commands here

ssh -p 65535 -i ~/.ssh/qtc_id root@10.0.2.4
or
sftp -oPort=65535 -i ~/.ssh/qtc_id root@10.0.2.4

I get this error:
>> Received disconnect from 10.0.2.4: 2: Too many authentication failures
for root

If I do this in terminal with sudo it works fine. But from Qt Creator I
cannot use sudo. What is more, with meego-sdk SFTP upload step worked
without sudo, so it must be doable.

Anyone tried this yet?

[SailfishDevel] Qt Creator - SDK Control Center - install packages - any way to set proxy?

2013-04-08 Thread Simon Bolek
hi,
first things first - thank you for great work setting up SailfishOS IDE on
3 platforms!
So i begun to work on Win 7
- SDK starting well
- Apps compiling and deploying well

however when I try to install some packages in SDK Contro Center, it fails,
there is a timeout.
I set http_proxy in environment settings, but I am not sure whether
qtcreator is using https_proxy when downloading packages.

I know that Qt SDK Maintenance Tool was using --proxy as a parameter, but
qt creator does not have this option.

Any ways to teach SDK Control Center qt creator, that it has to use proxy?

A workaround would be to ssh to sdk and install RPMs manually

thanks

[SailfishDevel] Cannot change SSH port in QtCreator for a device(?)

2013-03-03 Thread Simon Bolek
Hi,

Thanks for the great SDK in the first place!

I installed the SDK on my host Ubuntu 12.10
- SDK running OK,
- connecting to emulator OK,
- compiling / testing on emulator OK,
BUT, if I add a new device (not emulator) and would like to change the SSH
(QtCreator->Tools->Options->Devices) port to, let's say, 22 -> it is not
working, whatever I do, it always comes back to 65...
Is it an expected behaviour? or am I doing sth wrong?

cheers
Simon
