The 4.10 released binaries still exist and I have fixed all reported
4.10 issues.

I would like to use RSB built binaries and build all BSPs.

This will also be a good exercise for the new hosting.

Yes this is a great idea.

The file Makefile.maint in the top rtems directory has the scripting for
generating releases, tagging, generating version file, etc for CVS. We need the
equivalent, a script in rtems tools, or a manual procedure to cut a release now
with git. Obviously I prefer a repo independent script.

Is there plan for stable 4.10.3 release branching?

2014-11-06 Thread Pavel Pisa
Hello Joel and others,

the discussion to branch for 4.11 release
has bring to my mind the 4.10 stable branch.
The 4.10.2 release is dated to December 2011.
There is significant amount of corrections
and updates on in the GIT and last two commits
are almost one year old so I would expect that
the code base is quite stable. I have tested
it more times on CSB336 and we have used it for
RTEMS CAN benchmarks on MPC5200 as well.

There are significant pile of fixes - i.e. shell commands
for memory editing fixed, SD card support correction
and other stuff after 4.10.2 release.

So I think it would be usesfull to declare actual
state as 4.10.3 release. It would help people
interrested in RTEMS to have stable base for existing
projects.

Best wishes,

   Pavel

There haven't been any discussions about it but it makes sense to do one. We
need to work through the release procedure with git and this will be good
practice.

Also Chris has RSB support for 4.10 tools so he should also comment to make
sure he thinks it is ready.

This will also be a good exercise for the new hosting.
