I've done some more testing and the problem seems to actually be with KDE. If I start Xorg in failsafe mode and scan in the Xterm window, I can see the Cuecat's output. Also, if I open an xterm in KDE, not a KDE term, I can still scan. It seems that KDE is grabbing the CueCat's input, but I can't find anything in the KDE control center, so I guess I'll try a KDE group. Drawing RGB data
Hello, I'm searching for a piece of example code for displaying a two dimensional array of 32 bit words with RGB color values in a X11 window. I guess I need to use XCreateImage(..., ZPixmap, ...) followed by XPutImage(). But I'm couldn't find an example for using XCreateImage() for that purpose. Maybe something (X, window manager etc.) gets confused by a simulated Alt+F10 keypress. Xorg and CueCat problems
I hope someone on this list can offer a suggestion. I have been trying for some time to get my PS/2 Cuecat device to work with Linux and X. Just last night I was able to determine that the problem seems to be with X and not with Linux. If I scan in an Xterm window or within my X app (Readerware) I get a bunch of beeps and sometimes a line feed. If I scan in a VT I get good output from the Cuecat. Today, I installed an old dist of RH with XFree86-3.3.6 just for testing and the Cuecat does scan under the older version of X. Has anyone been able to get the Cuecat devices to work under the current X? Is there some setting I can put in xorg.conf to allow the input from the Cuecat device? I'm running Kubuntu 5.04, kernel 2.6.10 with Xorg 6.8.2. My xorg.conf is attached. Thanks for any help. There's a bug ( or at least an inconsistency ) in xf86Helper / xf86SetWeight(): scrp->offset.red = ffs(mask.red); scrp->offset.green = ffs(mask.green); scrp->offset.blue = ffs(mask.blue); this sets 1-based offsets while the rest of the code ( or at least Xrender's PictureCreateDefaultFormats() ) expects 0-based ones. rewriting touch driver from XFree86 3.3.6 to 4.2.0
Hello I just joined this mailinglist and hope this topic hasn't been discussed to many times before. I've got an existing touch driver for the touch controller UR7HCTS2 from semtech (which is connected via the PS/2 interface) for Linux kernel 2.4 and XFree86 3.3.6. Now I need to rewrite the driver for XFree86 4.2.0 and have some problems. It starts with include files such as "xf86Procs.h" and "xf86_Config.h" that don't seem to exist in 4.2.0 anymore. This is my first attempt to write a driver for XFree86 at all. Can anybody point out a good documentation on how to rewrite a driver from 3.3.6 to 4.2.0? Usually, is it a lot of work to rewrite such a driver? Has anybody experience with the UR7HCTS2 controller? Any comments are appreciated.
