fspanel || learning XLib and Xinerama

I've just discovered fspanel. I love it because it it so so simple. I 
use XFree86 on MacOSX so my OS is already provided for me and I don't 
need all the "extra" features of gnome or kde just to get their panel.

Here's my issue: fspanel doesn't have the vaguest idea about Xinerama, 
and I have multiple displays. This makes it impossible to make it show 
up on the correct one correctly. ;-)

First, if anyone has a patch/hack/whatever that will make it work, pls 
tell me!? or even a similarly lightweight panel. I've looked at fbpanel 
and hpanel, they aren't what I'm looking for, and I'm not entirely sure 
they support Xinerama either.

Second, failing my first request: Could someone point me in the right 
direction to learn Xlib and Xinerama myself? I know some C (I 
understand the language, but have very little experience) and I'd like 
to be able to fix this myself. :-)
