It is indeed much better! As some of you may have noticed, there are
still a few things to iron out. Please report any further findings on
the Jira bug issue for this, which you'll find here:

Hope ya'll have a wonderful weekend :)

Development looks ok-ish, but other mailing lists (e.g. interest,
creator) are still broken!

Ok-ish: the archives using EET/EEST instead of CET/CEST (or UTC). That
again will shuffle indexing (not break permalinks, just aggregate things
differently because of the timezone). Please bring it back to CET/CEST.

Cheers,

[Development] HEADS-UP: Qt 5.13 Feature Freeze is in effect now

2019-02-01 Thread Jani Heikkinen
Hi all,

Feature freeze for Qt 5.13 is now in effect and branching from 'dev' to '5.13'
is complete. From now on 'dev' is for Qt 5.14 and all changes targeted to Qt
5.13 must be done in '5.13' branch.

If not already done please update Qt 5.13 new features page:
https://wiki.qt.io/New_Features_in_Qt_5.13

And plan is to publish Qt 5.13 alpha release as soon as possible. Let's see if
we can get it out already during next week...

br,
Jani

2019-02-01 Thread Mark De Wit
Will definitely do. So far it appears only my laptop is affected, other
devices are fine. Just seeing a lot of random oddness, once I have confirmed
that it's not our code doing silly things (and reproducible samples) I will
definitely place feedback in Jira... Also trying out the 5.13.0 alpha for
another data point.

Hmm, having given 5.12.1 a good try, sadly I'm seeing too many regressions with
our QWidgets application for us to deploy it. Shame, as it did fix some of
our last remaining high-dpi issues in WebEngine and it looks like it handles
mixed-dpi screens on Windows better than 5.12.0.

Good point. I only just now saw & read the entire tooltip for WebEngine.

I agree that it feels like user error, but it's too easy to make this error.
Also the cost is quite high, I only discovered the issue after a full Qt
download & install & rebuild failed on my code. That's half a day burned,
considering I have to uninstall again and then reinstall msvc 2017 package
(luckily I have that option, or I'd be more upset)...

[Development] Merge and Integration status report - 2019.02.01

2019-02-01 Thread Liang Qi
Merges

* Submodules and qt5 are fine.

Integrations and Provisionings

* qt5 5.12 are healthy
* Trying to have a few changes from Ryan, about docker based network test
server for Windows, see
https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/q/status:open+project:qt/qt5+branch:dev+topic:%22docker-based+testserver%22,n,z
 , but failed, because https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTQAINFRA-2717 , The
same agent called agentLaunched twice, that should not happen, forcefully
restarting this workitem . And looks like it also blocks qtbase dev
integrations.
* qt5 dev is 3 days old, I think it is also affected by above issue.
* qt5 5.13, haven't tried, because the final down merge dev->5.13 is not
finished yet
