[development-axapta] Admin User Group Permission changed....

2004-02-19 Thread Amar Kumar Senapati

Hi All,

Today when I tried to login my Axapta
(using Admin login), I am not able to see any menu (not even Main menu). It was
working fine till yesterday. I logged in using some other user id and found the
Admin User Group permission – have no access to any menu. Its strange, as by default it should be full control to all menus
and un-editable.

What may be the problem, and how can i
change the permissions. I am using 3-tier configuration. 1 AOS
. DB –> SQL server

Thanks in Advance

Regards

Amar

Re: [development-axapta] moving on data source

2004-02-19 Thread utku tatlidede
Hi ,
I think a related question about this topic is getting
count of records on the datasource or grid. Of course
we can increment a counter in the while loop but I am
searching for another method if any.
Thanks

Subject: [development-axapta] Upgrade documentation

Hi everyone,

In this year 4th year of my study, a (bachelor) paper has to be
written.
As a former intern at an MBS partner, Axapta seemed a logical choice
to write about. The titel of my paper will be: Framework for
upgrading to new Axapta releases.

In this particular company,there are no specific upgrade-manuals.
Only one programmer knows how to do an upgrade, and he does it
mainly by heart. He said it's an 'hands-on job'. Maybe, but
structured documents are needed for this process. A lot of problems
occur during and due to these upgrades, obviously most of these
problems ocur with the non-standard axapta programming.

My question to you people: Do you have these kind of update manuals
in your company, like detailed checklist? And if so would it be
possible for me to see them?
Has Microsoft shared documents with you that helped with the upgrade?

With kind regards,

Jack Schilder, student at the Amsterdam Business School

RE : RE : [development-axapta] Printing the report directly on the assinged printer

2004-02-19 Thread Steeve Gilbert

Sorry, I thought all was in
there.  So here's an XPO of the class.  With this everything should be ok to compile,
if you need anything else let me know.

I suggest you that for
each report you overload prompt() method and do something like that :

element.printJobSettings().DeviceName(LBAUtilPrinter::findPrinterName(getIPForThisReport()));

where getIPForThisReport()
is the function what will return the IP found in your table for the current
report.

Take care!

Hi Girish,

I think I have the solution for you.  The static function attached (hope
the attachment works) will give you the printer name when you pass a printer
port (like an IP or path \\SERVER\Printer) as the parameter.  That is, the
printer must be installed on the workstation.  Then use this in your
report :

element.printJobSettings().DeviceName("The printer
name");

Hope that's what you were looking for.  The function is
documented in French.  If you can't read French it's pretty easy to figure
out how it works anyway since it's not a big function.

Take care!

suppose
we populate a field in the table with an IP address. Now if we print a
particular report is it possible to directly have this report printed on this
assigned printer (IP address specified). i would appreciate if anyone who knows
about this could send me the code to write the same on the report.

address. Now if we print a particular report is it possible to directly have
this report printed on this assigned printer (IP address specified). i would
appreciate if anyone who knows about this could send me the code to write the
same on the report.

thanks .

cheers,
Girish

[development-axapta] Remove filter on one field only

2004-02-19 Thread eva_aksnes

I want to be able to remove the filter on one field only, like the
right-click menu to remove all filters.

Is it possible to make this a global feature? How?

Hi,

The error occured, because you have made modifications at:
#DEFINE.CurrentVersion(1)
    #LOCALMACRO.CurrentList
   mname,
   yrname
 #ENDMACRO
If you want to change that, but somebody has run the class once, then you
have to change the version number to other number.
If you try to delete table SysLastValue, then it's okay, but the version
number will be unused.
The error message comes from this:
When axapta runs the packable class, it call unpack method first to get the
last saved value for that class. After the running code is done, then
method pack will be called to store to a container data type. That
container is stored in sysLastValue table.
If particular userid has run the class, then the class has called pack
method. After that if you change the type or the total element of
#LOCALMACRO.CurrentList, then when that user try to run the class again,
the code will try to unpack different data type or trying to store
container with a different total element in container. Thus, the error
message will say 'Bad container'.

I think it's a little bit confusing, but maybe you will understand after
see the code of SysPackable class:

public container pack()
{
#if.never
    return [#CurrentVersion,#CurrentList];
#endif
}

public boolean unpack(container packedClass)
{
#if.never
    int version = runbase::getVersion(packedClass);
    switch (version)
    {
    case #CurrentVersion:
    [version,#CurrentList] = packedClass;
    return true;
    default :
    return false;
    }
    return false;
#endif
}

Did you add your Fields
to an existing group on the form? And if so, is the group’s property
“AutoDataGroup” set to “yes”? Set it too
“no” ;-))

Strange problem.. Form modifications are lost..

Hi all,

Last night, i add three StringEdit
fields on design of LedgerJournalTransDaily
form. Also i added three methods on datasources of this form.I compiled
solution and shut down my computer. This morning when i opened my solution, all
fields that were my added last night are lost!!

I think that, it may be my minds
problemJ But i repeat my modifications now
and results are same!! I change the design, and my added fields aren’t
showing at runtime.
When i close Axapta and opens again, all design modifications are lost on this
form.

Do you have any idea about this??
