I would suggest that you try to find some very good suggestions from the earlier messages in this group. Earlier too many people had asked and have received suggestions. RE: YNT: [development-axapta] SalesFormLetter_invoice from salespackingslipfor.
Hi Cenk, I am not sure if the below is the complete solution which you are looking for. I had sometime back had the same requirement (but for purchase invoicing) for a client and here is what is suggested and created. Their requirement was that they wanted to invoice by delivery note numbers. During invoicing of the Sales order by selecting ALL you will see in the lines that all the uninvoiced sales lines are displayed. But if you delete some of the lines/ make the deliver Now quantity of some as zero then only the lines remaining with no zero qty are invoiced. We can use this to achieve what we want. You create a new table with fields like Sales Id; parmId; packing slip Id, delivery date and Mark (enum: yes/no). you may need to modify the class SalesFormLetter/createParmTable . In this method you know the salesId and you need to select all the Packing Slip Id for the order from custPackingSlipTrans table and insert these delivery notes in the new table. Add this new table in the SalesEditLines form/ datasource. Display the records in a grid in a new tab. Here you could add a button. In the grid all the delivery notes will be displayed. Now you can mark the ones you want (put validation to see that the line is not previously invoiced). After selection is made you click the created button (here you should write the code to update the deliver Now qty and the validations). I am not sure if this would help you. If you write withing anything within ' ' then it will assume it to be an and you cannot get to choose wildcard entry. So you need to check for the substring. RE: [development-axapta] Text on Report
I am not sure if you want to display some texts or you want to display the records from the table ? If you are trying to display the records from the table with multiple lines then this way of arranging the fields will not help. Its like you want to display the records in the grid vertically. Just using standard reporting it might not be possible. I had earlier created a few such reports but with some workarounds. It also depends on how many lines you want to display, are there any fixed no of line or it can n nos of lines? If the no of records are fixed then it is possible, or create field dynamically. If there are fixed no of lines to be displayed then you need to have a table with those may fields and get the records populated so that even though it is displayed horizontally on the report, for the user the displayed records are as if they are printed vertically. Hope this will help you. I didn't take any training. I have some difficulty in understanding some of the std functions. Here are some of those. 1. what is use of Super() call. Ex. 1. myown_function() super() /// In case if you have written this on an MenuItem then your function is run before the menuItem is called In case if you have written this on modified method then your function is run before the modification function is done. /// 2. super() myown_function() /// In case if you have written this on an MenuItem then your function is run after the menuItem is called In case if you have written this on modified method then your function is run after the modification function is done. /// What is the difference between those scenarios?. 2. what is the diffence between active() and linkActive(). Can you please help me with an example?. // active - this is executed when the user scrolls to make a new record // linkActive - this happens when the user scrolls to a new record in a form with its datasource linked to another datasource (this happens only when a link between 2 data sources has been established) 3. what is the difference between init() and initValue()?. Can you please help me with an example?. //Init - executed when the form is opened // initvalue - executed when a new record is created. This is mainly sued to fill in the intial values. 4. what does Tablename_ds.executeQuery() do?. You use this method when you want some function to run when the form is opened for data display. The function has to be written before the super() 5. what does TableName_ds.refresh() do?. The super in this method updates all the fields in the datasource (used to display the updated records) Can someone in this community help me?. Thanks in advance. Padmaja - Do you Yahoo!? RE: [development-axapta] How to save Query ranges in autoreport
I don't completely understand the problem. If you save the query ranges then later stage if you want to re-use any of the saved query range then you can see that these are listed when you select the list (select query). DoDelete is used when you don't want to use the delete method written on the Table. RE: [development-axapta] Default field from InventTable to Purchase Line
Hi Danny, Suppose say you writing an job/class to create an Purchase order. If that method was not on the table then you would have ended up writing the same thing again in your job. This is not the only case, there could be many other instances where you would like to use that method. So it is very important to see where you are writing your code. If possible the method should be on the Table (which can be source for many functions) and if not possible then in the class and if it's not possible here then form and this depends on the situation. cheers, Girish _ From: Danny Gaethofs [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 16 December 2004 14:55 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [development-axapta] Default field from InventTable to Purchase Line Dear Girish, What exactly do you mean to say with your last sentence? regards, Danny --- Girish Bhatkal [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: When you select the Item the it first calls the InitFromInventTable method on the PurchLine table. RE: [development-axapta] Beginner help
Hi Pete, Now the Technet does not have the library where it maintained the Documents. I see that we have been asked to refer the Microsoft site (link provided on Technet). Earlier I did downloaded a few documents which might be of some help to you , I am forwarding the same to you on your EmailId as we cannot attach the documents and send to the yahoo group. Cheers, Girish _ From: Matt Benic [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 09 December 2004 09:16 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [development-axapta] Beginner help Hi Pete, My experience of Axapta has also been that there is a serious lack of documentation other than the internal help system (which is incomplete at best). I take it you have read the Axapta Developers Guide? If not this is a good place to start, you can find it on the help menu within Axapta. Also, if you can get hold of the installation CD (the client does thave the original installation CD, right?), there are some useful docs on it. To be honest, I have found the best source of Axapta technical information to be groups like this one, since there is very little online in terms of documents or tutorials. Visit (and sign into and set up- the defaults give you nothing at all) http://technet.navision.com and also http://www.mbsonline.org. Stapp -Original Message- From: petedev001 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 09 December 2004 09:46 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [development-axapta] Beginner help Hi. I am a developer with a background in Windows based desktop and web programming and specialising in .NET. I have been asked by my company to spend 4 - 6 weeks on site with a customer who has recently installed a Axapta to try and streamline their ordering / inventory processes. Unfortunately before last week I'd never heard of Axapta and had never had anything to do with any ERP. My responsibility is currently to the eCommerce portal of the corporate website, which they are attempting to run directly off the back of the central Axapta installation. We need to be able to heavily customise both the visual display (ie HTML/CSS) output, and also the workflows and steps taken by the user when interacting with the shop. The product needs to be brought exactly into line with the design spec for the site which had already been signed off before I came on board. After looking around, I am pretty sure I need to create several of my own Axapta weblets to handle information display and processing, and also modify existing modules to be able to modify the workflow. The big problem is that the useless bunch of idiots who sold the Axapta package to our client (another company) are now refusing to provide any post-sales technical support, documentation, or any help whatsoever. Which leaves me at a loss, for I have nothing at all to tell me where or how to start. The amount of Axapta documentation floating around on the net seems to be very small. I have spent hours looking, and found next to nothing of any use. Does anybody know of any kind of Developer's Guide to Axapta Development website, document, book, or anything at all? I need to come up to speed quickly on this, as I need to be performing some pretty heavy modifications in the near future, and without any idea of where to start, its not looking good... RE: [development-axapta] A call to South African Axapta technical users
Hi Matt, I am working in UK. Earlier I used to check technet and then partnerguide . but things there keeps on changing . Then we also have MBS online but with the busy schedule of ours its very difficult to check the things happening in all these sites and usergroups. Since joining this development axapta usergroup I feel this not only helps us solve our problems but also helps us to understand the problems other people face and their solutions. Since axapta is a global solution, there could be 1 in 10 problems which could be affecting a particular region and I feel its better if we stick to one global group. If we have different groups country / region wise then many people and ourselves will miss the problems people are facing and their fixes. For training purposes I think the regional group could be of some help but to share the experiences and find the solution to the problems this global group would be more helpful. This is just my thought and may not be right. Good luck. We envision such a community learning from each other's experiences, and helping motivate a greater focus on the part of Microsoft when it comes to providing quality training and support in this country. We would like to be able to share experiences regarding implementations, volumes and development, as well as helping recommend competent third party training institutions and implementation partners. We would also like to hear from any other such communities in other countries to be able to learn what steps they have taken towards establishing productive user groups. I am not sure which line you missed during the creation of the purchase line. Along with the purchase qty a few other qty fields also needs to be updated. You could use the standard methods to update these fields. Like : purchline.PurchQty = Qty; // qty is the purchase qty purchLine::modifyPurchQty(purchline,inventDim); purchLine.InventDimId = InventDim::findOrCreate(inventDim).inventDimId; InventMovement::bufferSetRemainQty(purchLine); Hope this will solve your problem. RE: [development-axapta] Advanced Finance V3.0 Exam
Most of the questions were about setups. Ex: What is the purpose of the search name specified on ledger account - Ans : to enable the system to fill in the account number in a journal when the search name is entered. Dimensions are mostly used for ? Ans : generating financial statements per cost centre or any other dimensions. Basically if you have done a setup for any client and also gone through the documents (available on the TechNet) it would help. Good luck. [development-axapta] ordered status not changed
Hi All, Today I saw a very peculiar thing. When I looked for the OnHand for a particular Item I found that it has 250 Qty with receipt status Ordered. But when I checked this PO it had this status as delivered. Also when I checked for the transactions for this Item and for the selected PO i find 2 lines : Line 1 with 250 qty and receipt status ordered and Line 2 with 250 qty and receipt status Purchased. When I checked in the InventTrans Table I find 2 lines for this purchase line and both with different InventTransId. The one with the correct InventTransId was updated but don't understand how the other line was created. Can anyone tell what could be reason why the earlier line status itself was not changed but it was left and a new line created and status updated. Is there anyway we can close the open ordered status line, because on the PO the items are already delivered. Thanks, Girish [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Yahoo! RE: [development-axapta] FW: User configuration utility settings changes
Hi Karsten, I had got every user open their configuration utility (after login in the terminal server using their domain userid) and then asked them to enter their userid in the Userid and company id in the company. Now when they login it takes their person set user id and company. When they start again the next day they find their user id and company which was set earlier still saved and they just have to click the short of the application (Ax32.exe). But suddenly we find that all the users's settings (which they had changed to have their userid and company id) has been again changed back to a configuration which was imported at first. RE: [development-axapta] FW: User configuration utility settings changes
Hi Matt, Each user connects to the terminal server from their own machines. The users are using Macintosh machines and not PCs. A few users are in Netherlands (servers are in UK) and they connect to the terminal server which is in UK and then they have their own userid and company id set in the configuration utility and save it.Then they start using axapta application. RE: [development-axapta] FW: User configuration utility settings changes
Hi Matt, i am working on the method which Karsten had mentioned and I believe it would work. Another way I feel what can be done is that each user have their user settings done. Then export their configuration utility setting on their desktop. Now rename the file as *.axc. Now when the user opens the system will pick up the setting which was exported and even though the configuration utitlity settings is changed it will not pick the new one. Thanks Karsten and Matt for your valuable suggestions. Regards, Girish _ From: Matt Benic [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 15 November 2004 13:52 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [development-axapta] FW: User configuration utility settings changes Ok, I have never used terminal server, so I am not sure about how the persistence of such data works. I assume though that if a number of users are connecting to the same machine, their settings will overwrite each other (since these settings are stored in the registry under a user-shared key-I think ). As I said below, there is already a nice file format (axc) that acts as a shortcut by being associated with Axapta, and stores connection data. This should sort out your problems.. and is a much safer option IMO than giving the users access to the config tool. In conjunction with this, a simple reg file with the necessary ODBC settings will help if your users run two-tier, and it only needs to be run once (note that an ODBC source imported directly into the registry this way doesn't appear in the ODBC connections dialog in the control panel). RE: [development-axapta] Lookup method, how can I do a different lookup using another table
First you select the form field which needs the lookup and set in the properties AutoDeclaration = Yes. Now let us say the field name on the form is TBSCustMerchandise_MerchandisedId. Now you go to the datasource and on the field Merchandised Id you write the lookup public void lookup(FormControl _formControl, str _filterStr) { Query query = new Query(); QueryBuildDataSource queryBuildDataSource; SysTableLookup sysTableLookup; ; sysTableLookup = SysTableLookup::newParameters(tableNum(TBSCustMerchandise), TBSCustMerchandise_MerchandisedId); sysTableLookup.addLookupfield(fieldNum(TBSCustMerchandise, MerchandisedId)); sysTableLookup.addLookupfield(fieldNum(TBSCustMerchandise, CustAccount)); queryBuildDataSource = query.addDataSource(tableNum(TBSCustMerchandise)); queryBuildDataSource.addRange(fieldNum(TBSCustMerchandise, CustAccount)).value(TBSCustMerchandise.CustAccount); sysTableLookup.parmQuery(query); sysTableLookup.performFormLookup(); } This will automatically filter and display by CustAccount. RE: [development-axapta] Best Practice in Axapta to ensure quality AXAPTA based ERP Solutions
Hi Anil, The best way is to check in the developer's guide (see for programming standards). Also you can check for some good documents on the technet. If you want to see how the relations are set in the datasource and all then the best place to see are the tutorials. Rest of the things come by experience. From my experience I can say that its always better if you try to find how the function (similar to the one which you are going to create) is achieved in standard axapta. Either you should be a very good programmer or the best is you should know how to find the codes from Standard axapta functions and copy them and later modify it. Enjoy coding. In Account payable menu, make sure there's no opened journal in invoice journal or payment journal. 2. Open payment journal. A new record will automatically created and journal id will be reserved. 3. Show all journal by selecting Open in the comboBox Show. If you look at the journal that was standing by (not saved but created), it's now saved. But if you go look in the number sequence table, you'll see that this journal Id is now free! 4. Now open invoice journal form and see a brand new record being created with the same journal id as the payment journal one. To make it short, what I've found is that you have to comment line 4 of executeQuery() (this.returnJournalNum()) of the DataSource so that the journal id is not freed when the filter on the form is changed. The line was useful before HF30SP3_008 but with this fix it's causing a problem. Hope that help some of you! RE: [development-axapta] Is it possible to change records posted?
RE: [development-axapta] Posting Errors !
Hi Jack, When the General journal lines are created through axapta it also inserts/updates some other tables. So its not easy to directly import the lines and then post. When I had got our client's GL data migration I had got the journal created manually and the lines using a data import function on the lines form. In this function the code was written similar to the way the lines get created when created manually. The standard import functions (using excel) of axapta works correctly only in some standard tables where no multiple tables are updated. RE: [development-axapta] Import from excel for invoicing
Hi Nitesh, Import function like the one you are doing should be done when we need to import data in the tables which usually dont need any other functions to run (Like BOM tables). When you want to create the Sales order from the excel data then it is better if you just import some of the standard data Like Customer Id, Currency, ItemId, Qty , price etc (may be from .csv file) and then you should write the functions, as the data is imported, to create the Sales order (table and lines). you should write a class and in this 1. import the data 2. check if the data is correct or not. If the data is correct then 3. write the function to create the sales order 4. write the function to create the sales line (check on the salesTable form /datasource:salesLine ,how the salesline is created). cheers, Girish -Original Message- From: Nitesh [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 11 October 2004 08:36 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [development-axapta] Import from excel for invoicing Hi Akash ,. RE: [development-axapta] Counting bug in 3.00 SP3
i too had earlier found this problem. eventhough all the counting journals were posted i got a message when posting the item from other journals that the posting cannot be done since the item is locked in the counting journal. i found that sometimes even after posting of the counting journal the record does not get cleared from the InventItemLocation table. i had to clear the field manually. This happens very rarely but still i feel its a bug. i too would be interested to understand if there are any fixes for this problem. thanks, Girish -Original Message- From: mat_bin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 01 September 2004 08:57 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [development-axapta] Counting bug in 3.00 SP3 Hello, I found a little bug in couting, I count an item with the same Location in a journal, I validate this journal. RE: [development-axapta] Virtual Company - Chart of Accounts
in the earlier post you had requested to explain how to setup a virtual company, did you set it up. This needs to be setup before the data is entered in any of the table which you want to consider to share. But there could be some other ways too to copy 1. create the COA in one company and then copy it to the other companies individually using the export / import function. 2. you could write a function to import the data from .csv file. during the importing of the data you can include the function of changing the company and inserting the data picked from the .csv file into these other companies. To understand the function to change the companies using x++ you could in the check the developers guide for working with more than one company. i have used the second option to create the functions , for our client, to import the data in many master tables , as they too are maintaining multiple companies. cheers, Girish -Original Message- From: ottawa_m2003 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 30 August 2004 16:16 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [development-axapta] Virtual Company - Chart of Accounts Hi, This is following up with my earlier post. /*/ Hi, I am putting a lot of efforts and its time consuming to enter the Chart of Accounts entries. RE: [development-axapta] Beginner's Queries on Axapta Development
Hi Maruf, there are seperate developments layers the licence of which has to be bought. if you select sys and login then you will be in user (usr) layer as you will not be having the licence code for sys layer. you can make modifications in the usr layer if you have not bought the cus/var/bus layer for changes. the difference is, if you make some changes in the var layer and then on the same object if you also make changes in the cus layer then the functional change made on the cus layer is active. if you delete the cus layer at any stage the changes made in the var layer remains. now if you make changes in the usr (if you choose sys layer the licence of which is not provided you will be getting into usr layer) then if later you delete the usr layer changes then the changes made in the above layer cus/var/bus etc remains. hope this answers your query. cheers, girish -Original Message- From: maroof [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 09 August 2004 09:18 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [development-axapta] Beginner's Queries on Axapta Development Hello I am new to Axapta. [development-axapta] insert records SQL table outside axapta
Hi everyone, whenever axapta needed to extract data from an SQL (on which axapta is not running) then we can get the data using the process of 1. initialise the connection to the external database (connect using ODBC) 2. run the SQL statement and get the executed query data in the resultset 3. now by using result.next() we get the records and update in the axapta table similarly now if we want to run the opposite way i.e pickup the data (multiple records) from an axapta table and then insert these records in a table present in a database which is not running on axapta how to do this? if anyone know how to achieve this please let me know. thanks Girish Yahoo! Hi Harry, i understand that we could have a different account by vendor but i wanted to stop the postings for particular vendors. If this is not a good way that i stop the posting then i have to take up the option of selecting the account by vendor but then in this case i also wanted to look for an option of making changes such that in Stock posting (where in standard axapta the posting could be set by Item) i also wanted to give an option of selection of account be provided by Item and warehouse. Only proved changes should be written to InventTable. Therefore I save the inventTable (and dependent records from InventTableModule and InventItemLocation) in a container. To change the record I restore it and want to open form InventTable to display all informations, also informations for InventTableModule and InventItemLocation. For displaying I set the records temporary and copy them to the datasource in InventTable. This I do from the linkActive Method from InventTable: inventTableTmp.setTmp(); inventTableTmp.clear(); inventTableTmp.overwriteSystemfields(true); inventTableTmp.data(_common); inventTableTmp.doInsert(); dataSource = changeForm.dataSource(#INVENTTABLE_DS); inventTable = dataSource.cursor(); inventTable.clear(); inventTable.setTmp(); inventTable.data(inventTableTmp); the same I do with datasource Invent_ds, Purch_ds, Sales_ds and InventItemlocation_ds. Although the datasources are filled, the controls are all empty (nothing is displayed). In the form SalesTableVoided they do it in a similar way, and there it works. I do the same with InventBatch, there it works also. The difference to INventTable is in my opinion only that there is only one datasource in the form. Questions are: If the cursor from datasources are filled and the controls don't show the value, what has to be done to make the controls display ? Method executeQuery only works with permanent data, because it creates a SQL-Statement and send it to database. How do I represent complex temporary data which is stretched over several tables? RE: [development-axapta] How to protect our source code
The only way to hide the modules is using licence. But in your case you want to hide the changes made in the usr layer, which i think is not possible. in which layer would the other contractors be making the changes? if the changes made by your is not going to impact any changes done by them then you could give them a seperate environment (by removing the usr layer changes made). but later if you put back the usr layer changes and if the same elements are modified by the other user then it would overwrite. But its important to understand in which layer will th other people work. -Original Message- From: y_mahendra08 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 06 July 2004 09:23 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [development-axapta] How to protect our source code hi all, We're in a joint development with some contractors to create some new modules in Axapta. RE: [development-axapta] Initial values in SalesLine.
Hi Jens, All the methods in axapta are given an appropriate name and are available in the appropriate place. In all the tables if you need to insert a list of field records from another table then go to the table (in your case salesline) and then check for initfrom... here you have init methods for different tables and each are called in different cases. when the records from salesTable has to be inserted then it calls initfromSalesTable. similarly you can see such methods on other tables also like on salesTable you have initfromCustTable. So it is important that whenever you add or modify any method then add/modify in the appropriate method and appropriate place. cheers, Girish -Original Message- From: Jens Strandberg [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 02 July 2004 07:48 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Com (E-mail) Subject: [development-axapta] Initial values in SalesLine. James, when running the customer transaction report we can select a new field "Date" and then here we can enter the from and to date so see the list of transactions, for the selected period. In fact in one of the company i was trying to find the solution i found that the difference is only for a particular customer. During payment/receipt the user sometimes enter the TransDate as Old date and do the posting. When i checked the records through the table browser i observerd, as Michellehad mentioned, that the settlement date is not the date entered in the TransDate field but instead was the posting date. where can we specify that the date of the settlement should be the date transaction date? i am not sure if this would solve the problem. when i ran the report with details i found a few transactions displayed in the "customer transactions" report were missing, for both the reports the date rangewere selected the same. Grish, just to double check: Your 'As of' date for both reports is the same? Your 'As of' date is a past date our you set as the current date? You select 'Only open'? You select 'Detail'? (maybe you can just give settings you use . :) ) I dont suggest you use customer trans report as there is no way for specifying an "As at" date (not in my Sp1 version anyway...) and so this report will just give you the current status of the transactions. [development-axapta] Ageing report / customer transactions report
Hi, i was looking at the ageing report and found that this report does not include all the records specified in the selected period. I compared this report with the Customer transaction report (running for a specific transaction period) and found a few records missing. The total of the ageing report also does not match with the customer balance list with credit report. some of the customer records total match up and some don't. RE: [development-axapta] display method
Hi Steeve, i feel that the use of display is mainly to reduce the unnecessary adding of fields in the table (and hence increase the database size) , say for example if one table is used in many forms/reports and we need one particular field (which could be got from any other table with reference) to be displayed in only one report/form then it is better to use the display to show that record. cheers, Girish -Original Message-From: Steeve Gilbert [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: 21 April 2004 20:38To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: [development-axapta] "display" methodPurely for my knowledge, what's the use of having to put "display" whenwe want a method to be called from a control? RE: [development-axapta] want to understand how to create a record in the table (SQL) by writti
Hi Jesper, thanks for the reply. the problem in this solution is that axapta is event driven and we have to run a job to import the data from the new table (created by external software). But the requirement is that as soon as the request is entered by Filemaker axapta has to pick the same. we need the same for some other functions also (to import /update the records created by file maker). if this has to work then there should be something which could triger the job (from Filemaker) which could then run the job of importing the records. If there are any work arounds in your knowledge which could help to solve this problem please do let me know. thanks again. cheers, Girish -Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: 03 March 2004 16:49To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: Re: [development-axapta] want to understand how to create a record in the table (SQL) by writtiHi Girish,I do not like external software writing in the Axapta tables. The reasons for that you describe yourself (problems with Recid).Whar I like to do on integrations is to create an table that Axapta cann't se. (Other User, and/or other Database). I then use the ODBC class to access this table and pull the data into Axapta. Using Axapta to pull the Data solves the problem with Recid, gives you controle over tha datavalidation within Axapta. Try something like this: LoginProperty lp; OdbcConnection _odbc; Statement _sql; ResultSet _records; ; lp = new LoginProperty(); lp.setDatabase('MyDB'); lp.setDSN('MyDNS'); lp.setUsername('MyUser'); lp.setPassword('MyPassword'); try { _odbc = new ODBCConnection(lp); } catch { info("Not loged in."); } _sql = _odbc.createStatement(); _records = _sql.executeQuery('SELECT ItemId, Qty FROM ExchengeTable'); while (_records.next()) { print _records.getString(1); print _records.getReal(2); }/Jesper Original Message Subject: [development-axapta] want to understand how to create a record in the table (SQL) by writting p (03-Mrz-2004 17:29)From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi Guys, our client was earlier using a different application (File maker) before we went live with axapta. some part of the business process is still done on the earlier application which we intend to slowly move to axapta. our client is in computer repair business and the users are still using the old system to request for Items. we could manage to insert the request directly in the SQL table and axapta pickedup the records from that table. 1. This application has to run a sequence to update the recId field in the table (which some times gives duplicates and the request is lost). is it in some way possible to write some code in SQL table itself to populate the recId. 2. also is there any code which could be written on this table (with 3 fields : Item, Qty requested). At start the first record would have just the ItemId populated and when the Filmaker updates the record with the Qty (quantity) field. Now at this stage is it possible that when the Qty field is updated some code on the sql table would automatically create a new record with the same Item but Qty field blank so that the Filemaker would require only to populate the Qty field. i would appreciate if anyone would let me know if we can achieve this and how to run the code if we can achieve. i don't have much knowledge of running the codes on SQL directly. thanks in advance. cheers, Girish Yahoo! RE: [development-axapta] Terminal server
Hi harsh, in case of terminal servers there are 3 process. first the request is sent to the terminal server and then the terminal server is talking to the AOS and then AOS with the Database. there are a few ways you can increase the performance one is connect the people who are connected with thick clients. I believe the terminal server is in the same place where the AOS and the database is placed. In this case you can have the person who is running the MRP connected with 2 tier (as terminal server is acting as local machine). i feel this could work but i am not sure it is the best solution. if there are any other guys with different opinion then do let us know , to share the knowledge. regards, Girish -Original Message-From: Deshpande, Harry [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: 11 February 2004 08:07To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'Subject: [development-axapta] Terminal server hi We are running AOS, Appl and database all on three different machines. Sysmailer is aparantly just a wrapper. As I cannot find anywhere to tell sysmailer (or dundamailer) which SMTPserver (or POP3 server) to use, it has to take values from Windows defaultmailer. On my workstation I have MS Outlook installed, but I never use it. Thereare no accounts defined in it.I normally use Lotus Notes as mail program.I have a hunch that Windows thinks that Outlook is my normal mailprogram, and this is probably why it will time out.I am not sure of these things, but I think it could be the issue.'/Jens|-+| | "elianill" || | [EMAIL PROTECTED]|| | e || | || | 11-02-2004 08:53 || | Please respond to|| | development-axapt|| | a ||-+ --| | | | To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | cc: | | Subject: [development-axapta] Re: sending of emails without using outlook | --|Hi Harish,I made the same expiriencies as Jens beforeDo you have any other ideas how to solve?Best regards,Elia--- In [EMAIL PROTECTED], Jens Fudge [EMAIL PROTECTED]wrote: hmm... For more info on this mailer control, please go to 'SysMailer' class which is available under AOT - Classes. Once you there, select 'SysMailer' class and press F1. The following is the code sample from that help - - { SysMailer mailer = new SysMailer(); mailer.body("This is the body of the mail"); mailer.subject("The message subject"); mailer.fromAddress("[EMAIL PROTECTED]"); mailer.fromName("Peter
RE: [development-axapta] Inventory transfer - Question
Hi aigie, during tranfer if the item is serial number controlled then you have to enter seperate lines. this functionality i believe is fine as if you don't enter the serial nos then how do the system know which serial nos has it transfered? If there is always a possiblity that you transfer all the serial nos at one go then you may have to write a code to create lines with seperate lines for all the serial numbersavailable. say you can have a button on the transfer journal which would create the lines. once lines are created you have to post. In standard axapta i don't think there is a functionality of transfering a groups of serial nos by not entering individual lines. cheers, Girish -Original Message-From: my_ag [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: 28 January 2004 02:04To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: [development-axapta] Inventory transfer - QuestionHi all,Need help here. The requirement:To transfer item from one location to another. However, i am transfering not 1 qty but many qty with respective serial numbers. How to record in system (inventory transfer journal) where i transfer all the serial numbers at one go, from one location to another, without having to create separate lines for each serial numbers?thanks, aigie Yahoo!
