Agreed, it would be good if negative values were accepted and
processed. This could be useful for one of our other implementations as
 well, that I'm working on.

Meanwhile, another possibility is to use data approvals to lock out
data entry for the future period. It would involve taking action every time
you want the future data locked, but it would do that. See
 http://dhis2.github.io/dhis2-docs/master/en/user/html/da
 ta_approvals.html.

Re: [Dhis2-devs] [Dhis2-users] Lock Data set in advance

2017-01-26 Thread Jim Grace
Hi Nayeem,

Thank you for asking again.

This is now implemented in the latest builds of versions 2.24 and
following. Negative expiry days are accepted, and the data set is locked
before the end of the period. With a large enough negative expiry day
count, the data set can be locked as far ahead as you like, even before the
start of the period. As you said, this can be useful for entering future
data such as for planning, forecasting, or targets.

Cheers,
Jim

Like now we want to lock the next quarter planning data entry before 15
days from starting of next quarter. But data lock is not taking negative
 (-) value in dataset design.

Thanks to everyone for your support and help during the process though
we are experience what looks to be like bugs but that will be save for
another ticket while we verify and test all the various scenarios
within 2.25.

Once again thanks.

2017-01-26 Thread Calle Hedberg
Hi

Gerald managed to get it all up and working again this afternoon +
restoring the dump file (onto 9.5.5). So all good now :-)

Analytics run time dropped from 56 minutes to 17 minutes, which is
equivalent to the time it takes on my laptop, so the upgrade was overdue...

The only script specified in the upgrade instruction is "Run

 from 2.22 to

Re: [Dhis2-devs] Error in 2.25 displaying graphs and tables when an organisationUnitGroupSet is defined as filter

2017-01-26 Thread Alejandro
Hi,

We found out that the error was due to some organisationUnitGroups being
part of more than one organisationUnitGroupSet. In those cases, if you list
the organisationUnitGroups with an API call you get multiples instances for
those organisationUnitGroups (one per orgUnitGroupSet they belong to). And
in the end, this is the cause of inconsistencies with standard DHIS2
modules such as the one described above. We solved it by duplicating the
orgUnitGroups so they belong only to one orgUnitGroupSet.

This happened to us before with categoryOptionGroups and
categoryOptionGroupSets and we solved it in the same way. But it took us
some time to match both issues.

Just in case you face the same issue!

One question, is this the expected behaviour?

Cheers!
Alejandro

 Hi Barnabas,

you might need to clear the server side nginx cache, then restart
nginx. Did you install your DHIS 2 instance using the "server tools"? On
linux you can do this with:

 sudo rm /var/cache/nginx -rf
 sudo service nginx restart

Then clear your browser cache again.

 regards,

 Lars

[Dhis2-devs] Problem with Filtered Dimension in Data Visualization in DHIS2 2.25

2017-01-26 Thread Carlos Nyembwe
Dear Dev,
We need assistance removing, from graphs, the list of items in the filtered
dimension that appears at the top of the graph. Below, is a graph that
shows the number of births assisted by trained health personnel by
trimester for the whole ASSP project. When creating the graph, we selected
all the health zones but then used “Organization Units” as the filtered
dimension (see screenshot of layout). All the health zones appear on the
top of the bars of the graph. We DON’T want to see them listed though. In
previous versions we did not have this problem.

Could you fix it?

You will have to ensure a fresh download of metadata from the server for
this to take effect.

Great point. The android data capture app uses another API endpoint where
the form name was not properly handling translations. I have made a fix now
to (to the DHIS 2 server application) in 2.25 and 2.24.

Builds ready in 15 min. Let me know if it works.

Re: [Dhis2-devs] updating display names independently from name

2017-01-26 Thread Blake Hansen
Thank you Lars!

That is curious then, because our data elements are already translated, the
users language is set to the locale the translations exist for and yet in the
android data capture app the only language displayed is english. Is there a
setting that needs to be changed somewhere on the app or the server to ensure
the android data capture app UI uses the display* property value?

Re: [Dhis2-devs] Errors in JDBC connection

2017-01-26 Thread Bob Jolliffe
This seems to be a known problem between mysql, java and c3p0 (the database
connection pool). It seems that mysql resets connections which are not
used for 8 hours (by default). For some reason these stale connections
then get served up from the connection pool giving rise to this error.

You can kick the problem further down the tracks by increasing the timeout
on the mysql side. check the documentation for the configuration option.

Or you can make c3p0 more robust, for example by checking connections on
checkout (google 'c3p0 mysql reset' for lots of discussion, tips, advice
etc). This involves tweaking hibernate settings, possibly inside the war
file. I haven't tested myself on mysql for a long time. I think HISP
India folk probably have the best experience of supporting mysql on DHIS2
over the years.

[Dhis2-devs] updating display names independently from name

2017-01-26 Thread Blake Hansen
Dear Devs,

I have been trying to change the display names (displayName, displayFormName
etc…) of some data elements so that they are different to the name, displayName
etc… I have a use case where data entry on computer will be in one language but
on the android data capture app will be another. In previous threads it was
mentioned that from 2.24 the android app will read the displayX property for
what it displays.

My question: Is it possible to change the displayFormName independently of the
formName? If so, how please? So far I have used xml updates and partial payload
updates but to no avail. However simply changing the form name does the trick
(which I don’t want to do.)

Many thanks,
Blake___

Re: [Dhis2-devs] [Dhis2-users] PostgreSQL-9.5 failed to boot-up at restart of Linux server

2017-01-26 Thread Bob Jolliffe
Gerald it sounds like it has got into a bit of a mess and maybe you risk
just making it worse. It is really not supposed to be this hard, but tit
is next to impossible at a distance to figure out what might have gone
wrong.

Given that you are not dependent on migrating the cluster, but that you are
simply going to restore your dbs, I would advise that you just try and get
rid of the current non-working postgres installation completely and install
it again.

sudo apt-get purge postgresql ... etc (check under /etc and /var/lib that
all traces have truly gone)

[Dhis2-devs] Error in 2.25 displaying graphs and tables when an organisationUnitGroupSet is defined as filter

2017-01-26 Thread Alejandro
Hi all!

After upgrading from 2.21 to 2.25 we have found the following error:

Code: 500
Status: Internal Server Error
Not a valid dimension: BtFXTpKRl6n

This uid, BtFXTpKRl6n, is an organisationUnitGroupSet that, in the Layout
of a graph/table, is placed in the filter section.

The tricky thing is that the behaviour is not always the same. Sometimes we
can open those tables and graphs and sometimes not. In particular once we
get the error, if we perform the Maintenance Task Clear application cache,
it works again. But suddenly, after some time, we start getting the same
error again in the same table/graph or in others with the only thing in
common that they have this organisationUnitGroupSet as a filter.

We are looking into it right now but if any of you have faced a similar
problem or have an idea on what it could be, thank you for sharing!

Cheers!
Alejandro
