Hi Martin, Yes, we have done this quite a few times in Rwanda. I can send you the excel template and the SQL queries needed to update the various user table. The only thing we can't do is create the hashed password. Normally I send the spreadsheet to Knut or Bob Jolliffe and they create the hash password. I *Think *another way could be to use a WebAPI ... though that wouldrequire you to do some coding (One time coding) on a import script ... User support in the Web-API is not very good at the moment. I'm hoping to improve this in the future, but I would go with the approach outlined from Randy. Jason has had some luck with using R for this kind of stuff (including generating passwd). -- Morten On Mon, Jan 21, 2013 at 11:14 AM, Ocaya Stephen wrote: > I *Think *another way could be to use a WebAPI ... though that wouldrequire > you to do some coding (One time > coding) on a import script ... > > But First try the Randy's alternative. > > --Stephen (META Project) > > On Mon, Jan 21, 2013 at 12:51 PM, Wilson,Randy wrote: > >> Hi Martin, >> >> ** ** >> >> Yes, we have done this quite a few times in Rwanda. Re: [Dhis2-users] User accounts import
Hi Martin, Here is some really hacky R code to generate a bunch of users. The script is really basic, and really needs more work to automate it fully, but it will work. It will undoubtedly need to be tweaked to your needs, but you should be able to see the general approach. [Dhis2-users] From Excel to Single Event Program
Hi all, Some time ago I was looking for a way to introduce a large bulk of patient data registers into DHIS2. I didn't want to do that manually, so I wrote a java program to introduce the values right into the database. Now, I have modified the program in order to make it reusable. The program reads a excel file which contains all the information required to perform the import: database parameters, program parameters and person data values. The program and the data elements are identified by their names, so there is no need to provide their id's. The same for organisation units. There is a file called "instructions" which explains the right way to use the excel file and how the data values are treated. If you are ok with that, it is not necessary to do any modification in the code. Anyway, if someone wants to take a look at the code, it is in the "code" folder. The program is in a jar file, so a way to run it would be: $ java -jar adapter.jar path_to_the_excel_file The excel file must match the template provided. I hope it could be useful for someone. Re: [Dhis2-users] From Excel to Single Event Program
Hi Victor, This is great and sounds very useful. I love to see extras (read hacks) for DHIS2. I would suggest we maybe start some sort of repository on launch pad for this type of stuff. There is increasingly a lot of these types of "utilities" which are ending up in the trunk code, but there is probably a better place for them in a branch of their own. Not exactly sure where this might should be, but I think we should find a place for this type of stuff, as well as the increasing number of scripts which are popping up as well. Hi Martin, I am totally agreed with you and the painful process of user creation in DHIS2, specially, if some one need to create thousands of users by following steeps given in the link below http://www.dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/user/html/ch02s03.html But still, I would recommend you to follow these standard steeps given in above link for user creation in DHIS2, this is most trusted and officially recommended. This is one time job and usually it takes time, if one need to create users in bulk. Probably, you might find 6 other different hacking techniques and solutions suggested by Randy, Jason and others to do the same work of user creation in DHIS 2, but don't trust on any work around hacking technique at all for doing this work. Always chose to opt the best officially recommended process for doing certain work in DHIS 2 as given in user manual on above link. Re: [Dhis2-users] User accounts import
Hi Brajesh, I would be more than happy to allow you to create 300 users for me next time I need to do this, however, this is not really a feasible option for me! Please present some concrete ideas (preferably code) in terms of how to better solve this problem, which I think everyone would be happy with, but in the absence of a way to create many multiple users through the user interface, I do not see any other way other than the "hacks" suggested. It is the best option I have come up with. If you have a better one, great, but creating several hundred user accounts through the user interface is really not one of them. Re: [Dhis2-users] From Excel to Single Event Program
Hi Alvin, not, it is not for creating users of dhis2. The program does the same thing that you can do when you go to "Single event with registration" function and you push the "add new" button. It fills all that information. The program performs these steps: 1- Add a patient under a orgunit. 2- Enroll the patient in the "single event" program and program stage. Here, the service orgunit is the same that the registration orgunit. 3- Read the patient data values and write them into the database. On 21 January 2013 19:54, Alvin B.
