[Dhis2-users] Expired password

2013-12-02 Thread Muhire Andrew
Hi all,

Here is my inputs to DHIS2 may be for the future releases:

-To avoid people from may be misusing, risks of User and Passwrd caching to
their browsers memory, it can be more better if we make it optional on setting
passwords. Like password to expire on date xx/xx/. This is important
because some Users requests the usernames and passwords for only research
purposes in a given period. eg like only 3 months here the system can be able
to automatically block he/she from logging in. On Facility users, it can be
better to have a specific period and they all alerted to their emails and
forced to change the password.(Note that this is optional).

-Another part is if someone prompt and fails to log in several times eg: 6 or
more times the system automatically blocks that person and sends the message to
the administrator for him to check if its not an intruder.

I am very sure this can be suitable for the stable systems.

Regards!

This is a sensible request, and is in fact already planned for 2.14:

This I am less sure about - problem is that it will be very simple for an
attacker to jam the system by constantly posting login attempts to an
instance, hereby triggering the the auto-locking and disabling anyone to
log in. Must thing a bit more on this one.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Required Dhis2 documents for version 2.12

2013-12-02 Thread Lars Helge Øverland
Hi Uddin,

sorry to say but we haven't tagged the versions of the documentation up to
now.

A solution which requires some technical know-how is to check out the
documentation source code and build yourself. It was bumped to version 2.13
at revision 841 so checking out 840 will do:

bzr branch lp:~dhis2-documenters/dhis2/dhis2-docbook-docs -r 840

mvn clean package

Otherwise things haven't changed much so a trick could be to simply change
the heading of the current docs ;)

cheers

[Dhis2-users] Org. unit hierarchy

Dear all,

I´m using dhis2 with IE8 (8.0.7601.17514) and it doesn't seem to be able to
load the org. unit hierarchy when I go to Data Entry. It remains loading
and show an "error" icon at the bottom of the page. I have cleared the
browser cache but nothing changes.

Re: [Dhis2-users] How to restrict iReport orgunit parameter selection to district level (level 3)

2013-12-02 Thread Lars Helge Øverland
Hi Randy,

someone else might be more clever but I can't think of way to do that.

Would it instead be an option to try to make the report a bit more
flexible, so that it will display top 10 diseases no matter which level the
selected org unit is from?

The report template provides several org unit-related parameters, which
will give enough information to produce that report. See below, or try to
load the template directly into iReport (get the template from the add new
standard report screen).

For instance, you can join with the _orgunitstructure resource table and
base the join on the column name which you can get from the
"organisationunit_uid_level_column" parameter, something like this:

---
select ..., sum(dv.value) from aggregateddatavalue dv
inner join _organisationunitstructure ous using(organisationunitid)
where "$P!{organisationunit_uid_level_column}" = $P!{organisationunits} ...
---

This way, since we join on the organisationunitid of the
_organisationunitstructure but do the where clause on the column
representing the level of which the user-selected org unit is from, we
include all org units in its sub-tree in the. Hence, the need for
restricting org units goes away and you might get a more flexible tool for
analysis.

Lars

Which browser are you using? You might need to try upgrading your Browser
to the latest version and it is also recommended that you use Google Chrome

That might sort you out!!!

Re: [Dhis2-users] Org. unit hierarchy

2013-12-02 Thread Morten Olav Hansen
Hi Marta,

What version of Windows are you on? I see from the user-agent string that
it 'Windows NT 6.1' which I assume mean W7? If you do a system upgrade, you
should have IE9 available (or even IE10?)

Are you using IE8 because you need to support it, or is it just what's
available? I would suggest using either chrome or firefox.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Org. unit hierarchy

2013-12-02 Thread Marta Vila
Hi again,

Brajesh, I just checked and the system was already working on compatibility
mode

Morten, you are right it is W7. About the browser IE8 and Firefox 20 are
the 2 browser that weshould support, so I was checking if dhis2 works
properly for both of them. For firefox I found no issue...

I asked the IT dept. and they said that IE supported version should be
upgraded soon, but is 8 for now...
Is there any way to solve it for that version?

thanks!

Marta

I'll see what I can do.. I'm not sure how long we can keep on supporting
IE8 though, a lot of the stuff we have been implementing lately is using a
bunch of new HTML 5 techs, which mean at some point it will be more or less
impossible to support on IE8.

This is funny, I have seen this a few times but not been able to reproduce

Re: [Dhis2-users] Org. unit hierarchy

2013-12-02 Thread Saptarshi Purkayastha
With IE10 released for Windows 7 SP1 and IE9 on Vista, we should remove support
for IE8.
For the next release I suggest mentioning support for IE10 and higher.
Vista will be ignored, but one should be able to install Chrome or Firefox
anyways...

[Dhis2-users] help on user testing - new menu solution

2013-12-02 Thread Lars Helge Øverland
Hi there,

in next version (2.14) we plan to do some changes to the general list of
objects (data elements, indicators, programs and so on).

The idea is to replace the now impractical number of icons for each row
with a better solution.

Your challenge is to navigate to the list of data
elements(link
below) and perform tasks like i) editing a data element ii) removing
a data element iii) viewing detailed info of a data element.

http://apps.dhis2.org/dev/dhis-web-maintenance-datadictionary/dataElement.action

We won't tell you how it works. Please explore it and let us know in this
thread how intuitive and usable you find the new solution.

Re: [Dhis2-users] DHIS2 user role

2013-12-02 Thread Lars Helge Øverland
Hi,

yes that is possible.

- First make a "Superuser" user role with the ALL authority.
- Make sure the new user is given a user role which contain the "create new
user" authority but does NOT contain the ALL authority.

A users in DHIS can only create new users with user roles which have less
privileges than what it has itself. Read more here:

Just had a quick play around and the new system seems far more intuitive
and less liable to making mistakes than the previous as one can click
directly on the text for the item - I regularly clicked the correct icon
in the wrong row previously.

2013-12-02 Thread James Chang
I would personally prefer having one more step before opening the
popup(context) menu.

Like on 'row mouse over' or on 'row click', a menu icon/menu title box
could appear next to the row title. Upon clicking that icon, the same menu
popup appears. Clicking anywhere else (other than the menu icon) would
hide the popup menu.
