[Dhis2-users] Easy way to import indicators into new database

2015-10-12 Thread Arthur Heywood
Hi guys
I am sitting in Eritrea creating a new database with David Hagan ... they
have a wonderful set of indicators that conforms 90% to the international
norms set by WHO .
To create the indicators I now have to type out 100 indicators by hand
. a few days work for me!!

Can anyone help me with a SIMPLE way to get these indicators from another
place where they have already been properly defined??

many Thanks
Arthur

Re: [Dhis2-users] Easy way to import indicators into new database

2015-10-12 Thread Wilson, Randy
Hi Arthur,

If you haven't done this already, attached is an excel template that you
can use to transform your indicator list into fields that can be imported
into the DHIS-2 indicator table. I've left a couple of sample rows for you
to see what the content should be like. Note that after you have imported
the list, you still need to make sure that all of the data elements needed
are in the system and then create the correct formulas for numerators and
denominators manually.

The current CSV import doesn't support importing indicators, but if you
have access to the backend in Postgres it would be pretty easy to import
these with a small SQL script that also assigns uid and indicatorid fields
automatically.

[Dhis2-users] Request for new aggregation operator

2015-10-12 Thread Seid Hussein
Hi all,

We have a peculiar aggregation need here. I don't know if any other country
uses it or it is only Ethiopia but here it is.

Consider this data element which is collected monthly:

*Number of adults and children who are currently on ART - **First Line
Regimen *

When analyzing data for a year, the last month's data shall always be taken
rather than the summation or average of the data values.

There are a few data elements like this we capture every month.

However, the current aggregation operators cannot handle this. The max and
the min operators may be the closest ones to handle this (for data that
increases and decreases over time respectively).

Would it be possible to add one more aggregation operator that always takes
the last period's value when the aggregation is across periods and when it
is hierarchically it sums the last period's values of each captured data.

Regards,

Seid,

Hi Arthur

Excel or openOffice is easy for doing bulk edits and replacements - that
way you can also save your metadata to multiple formats

[Dhis2-users] Issue with data element of type "long text" in custom forms

2015-10-12 Thread Ese Egerega
Dear all,

I am facing a challenge with data elements of type *"long text"* in *custom
forms in *Tracker Capture.

Data element with data type "Long text" is usually rendered as* text area i*n
data entry when using the default data entry form. However, the same data
element is rendered as an input box (*not text area*) in *custom forms*
making it impossible to see parts of your text as you are typing.

I have tried to work around this by using HTML style tag to stretch the
input box so it fills the entire cell area but it still doesn't make it a *text
area *actually.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Easy way to import indicators into new database

2015-10-12 Thread uwe wahser

sorry, this got cut off by the web-mailer - next try:

Wouldn't it be good to have a repository of standard and best practice
indicators, data elements, classifications and data-sets per
health-program as down-loadable packages for easy import into a fresh
DHIS2 installation? In my maybe naive thinking this would only mean to
export them from an existing installation, zipping and uploading them to
the repository.

Advantages:
- best practice templates of useful indicator sets
- faster implementation of new instances
- more compatible data-elements and indicators in the source-systems
when approaching a supra-national HMIS, if the source installations were
build upon standard indicators.

Custom forms appear to be more flexible with aggregate datasets than in the
Tracker. Here are screenshots of the same data element in aggregate dataset
and in Tracker.

[Dhis2-users] Setting up Point of Service sites

2015-10-12 Thread Laura E. Lincks
Hello all,

I am interested in knowing how teams are setting up Point of Service sites
in DHIS.

I have thought of a couple of ways to do so:

   - Create an Organisational Unit level (POS) underneath facility level
which will collect Testing and Counseling data via a data set which is set
up to only be accessible to Org Units at this POS level

   - Create a data set for Testing and Counseling data and add a Point of
Service Category to it. Data will be added at the Facility level: data set,
reporting period AND Point of Service Type would be selected prior to
adding data on the data entry screen.

I imagine this is not an issue unique to us and am curious what others'
solutions are.

Thanks in advance.

Right now you can only control the entry fields size by designing custom

Hi Joao,

Do you want this for aggregate datasets or individual records?

You can create an indicator and assign the aggregate data element value to

Same for individual records
