Dear Thomas,

Thank you for your answer. However, I am talking about org units, not about
data elements.

Best regards,

Lise.

Hi Lise,

In each data element configuration screen you have a field called "form name"
which is the name displayed in the forms. If left blank, DHIS2 will display the
data element name by default.

The solution to your problem is to copy/paste the 'short name' field into the
'form name' field.

Best regards,

Thomas

Re: [Dhis2-users] [Dhis2-devs] Authorities for dragging and droping Dashboard Items

2018-05-23 Thread GROUT , Lise
Dear all,

We have already reported similar. Actually in our case, if the people has only
"See Dashboard" but does not have the other visualization Apps, they see the
dashboards with ghost widget (no chart, table or maps). We have to give them
access to all the other Apps, which was not our primary intention, and we don't
see the rationale behind this neither.

[Dhis2-users] Dashboard role

2018-04-30 Thread GROUT , Lise
Dear all,

We would like to have some users having access to the dashboard, but not to all
the visualization Apps.

We created a role which is called “Dashboard” and initially was containing ONLY
the authority “See Dashboard module”.

Unfortunately, the dashboard is yes visible by the users having access only to
this module, but none of the objects (table, graphs, maps) are visible… (all
sharing settings being OK).

Only if we add “See Pivot Table module”, “See Data visualization module” and
“See GIS module”, then the user do see the different objects of the shared
dashboards… but then he has access to the 3 mentioned Apps, which is not what
we wanted. (note the dashboards are only for aggregated data. We should add
event report and event visualizer if we would use individual data in the
dashboards).

Is there a way of giving access to the dashboards without giving access to all
visualization App?

Thanks in advance,
Lise.

[Dhis2-users] [WISCENTDs] Program indicators

2017-11-14 Thread GROUT , Lise
Dear all,

Two questions on program indicators (sorry if they have been asked already):
1. How to calculate the Age at clinical examination based on an Age-type
attribute? I thought the Age type attribute was stored as a date, but the
expression is invalid when using it (despite the same expression was valid with
Date of birth).
2. I have some program indicators that are equal to a data element (in
order to make it visible/available across all stages). Would it be possible to
display the name of the option set rather than the code?

Hi jason,

the conditional sum for these type ? when the type is aggregated not trackers.
Like I've created Data Elements of the type aggregated, created a 'data entry
form' of these data elements. also the indicators I've created for this till
now are simple indicators but now i want to create some indicator with
condition.

Re: [Dhis2-users] [WISCENTDs] : Logical indicators

2017-10-24 Thread GROUT , Lise
Thanks Lars. I will open a JIRA then. ;-)

I was thinking about the org unit group, but then indeed there is a mandatory
intermediate step that has to be done by the admin of the instance which is,
when a country submit his endemicity data, the admin has to create the org unit
group accordingly, which is not as immediate as we would have liked it to be.
Unless we could write a script that assign org units with “Yes” to an org unit
group. We will look into this. If someone has already written such a script,
happy to receive it. J

Hi Lise,

currently I think your best option is to create an org unit group set, with
groups for endemic/not endemic, then classify your org units accordingly. The
downside is that it does not provide a time dimension/ability to keep changes
in status.

This is a popular requirement and something we probably should support in a
better way.

[Dhis2-users] [WISCENTDs] Users disappearing from user groups

2017-10-19 Thread GROUT , Lise
Dear all,

We are having a problem for the last two days: users are disappearing from user
groups!
they used to be part of a user group and they previously entered data in
programs available for this user groupsbut yesterday and today, when they loged
in, they were not granted acces to the program in event capture and when we
checked, they were not part anymore to the user group...This happened to (to
our knowledge...) 2 users, in 2 different user groups and 2 different
programs...
Additionally to this, when I go to normal User App and try to add them back to
the user group, it does not work... Unless we do it through the Web API...
Any idea of why this is happening? And how we can solve the problem?
I have opened a JIRA: https://jira.dhis2.org/browse/DHIS2-2394
Please this is quite a serious problem as it prevents users from entering data
in the platform, and the behavior is quite unpredictable, so other users may
disappear from their user groups…

Thanks!
Lise.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Standard approach for recording age at the time of diagnosis when date of birth is unknown

2017-10-11 Thread GROUT , Lise
Dear all,

I tested the Age-type date element which is good to capture the approximate age
of the patient. But this is a dynamic variable, in the sense that every day,
the patient will be older of one day. Obviously, this is a very good attribute
for the registration for example in tracker, in order to be able to look for a
patient with the age variable, even if s/he shows up months or years later.

But it is also important for us to capture the age at the moment of clinical
examination/admission/presentation (whatever the name you give it) and that
this variable is static (it won’t change over time). And for this, the age-type
DE is therefore not helpful.

We currently have “Date of birth” which is date-type and “Age in years” which
is number-type DE, and we would actually like to have a PI “Age at clinical
examination” which is calculated with “DOB” if available or “Age in years” if
not available (not configured properly yet). Probably, ideally, the PI “Age at
clinical examination” should be calculated either on the “DOB” DE or in the
approximative DOB provided through the Age-type DE, but I don’t know if this is
possible. (Don’t know if I make sense).

Best
Lise.

As to the issue you refereed, it is a new one and most of us here haven't
looked into it before... Nonetheless, looking into the requirement mentioned
there - I think introducing the concept of age there will probably over
complicate things. What is required seems to capture a static figure - and
defining a simple data element of type number will handle that.

Hi,

We don't capture the additional data if DOB is approximated or not...

Otherwise, we have a value type called AGE, then during data entry a special
input field is rendered, see below

 [Inline image 1]

Users are free to fill any or combination of these and behind the scene the
system calculates/updates each field and in the end DOB is saved.

What we've done in the past with other systems is have a field for estimated
age at time of registration - only completed if the DOB is not known. DOB is
then auto-populated based on the entered age, and an additional YES/NO field is
updated to note that the DOB is estimated and not exact.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Data value / Track entity attribute type organisation unit analysis

2017-10-03 Thread GROUT , Lise
Dear Nayeem,

Org unit type data elements are not supported in DHIS2 for the moment in the
analytic tools (pivot table, visualize, GIS).

What we have done so far is to build a script which replicate the program
reversing the registering org unit tree.

For example, let say you have a “malaria program” where the case is registered
in a health facility in the org unit tree, and the place of residence is
registered in the form thanks to an org unit type DE.

The script create a “malaria program-from village” where the registering org
unit will not be the health facility anymore but the village of provenance.

In the analytics, you can then choose to look at your data from the place of
diagnosis by selecting the program “malaria program” or from the place of
residence by selecting the program “malaria program-from village”.

This implies that the villages are part of your org unit tree.

If you are interested in this solution, we can share the script.

Best
Lise

Dear Prosper

It is a different phenomenon.

Let me give example:

In one program patients are recorded at hospital but we need to analyze data
according to patient home address (self-reported) for epidemiological analysis
(distribution of diseases) also need to analyze according to hospital where the
patient have recorded for hospital utilization analysis. That is why we are
trying to make a tracker data element or tracked entity attribute to generate
those kind of analysis. But on event report option we can't analyze it as it
shows organisation UID in place of organisation name.

[Dhis2-users] [App] Web portal App [WISCENTDs]

2017-09-28 Thread GROUT , Lise
Dear DHIS2 users,

We would like to publish some of our dashboard publicly on our webpage. We
installed the “Web portal” App few months ago, but when we click, the window
remains blank and we can’t find any documentation on it.

Is anyone using this “Web portal” App successfully and could share some
documentation/Experience with us?

If this App is outdated, is there an easy way to publish a dashboard on the
web, or should we embed each table/chart/map in the webpage?

Re: [Dhis2-users] Sharing settings

2017-09-14 Thread GROUT , Lise
Dear all,

I am sorry I missed all this exchange about the sharing settings problem. Thank
you for your interest in this!

You are right, I will already try to review the list of users having the
“add/update public objects”.

Actually, I see the solution proposed by Lars as a minimum : to be able, at the
moment of creating the object, to decide on the public vs private status of the
object. Ideally, this should be also available through csv import of metadata
then.

It would also be great if this could be one of the column of research, so that
you can easily identify which are public and which are not.

But the option proposed by Jason would even be better in my understanding.
Maybe I miss something. Here is my use case. We are 2 superusers of the NTD
instance. We have metadata for 6 diseases currently in the system. User working
on 1 disease may not be working on the other ones. And I don’t want the users
to see neither all the category combinations in pivot tables, nor all the
favorites in pivot table, gis or visualizer. For the moment, the superusers
are the one creating 90% of the metadata and favorites, and making them
available to the different diseases. I would see it more convenient to create
by default private objects and then to decide with which user group I want to
share it. Moreover, new department (non-NTD) are joining our instance. They
will have their own superuser for their part of the system. I understand I
should then not give them the “add/update public objects” authority if I don’t
want my NTD users to see their objects?

Best
Lise.

Hi,

I also share the issue raised by Lisa. For us the problem appears when
superusers are also regular users in the system: they can do typical superuser
tasks like creation of public data elements and data sets, and in other moment
they can do some analysis just like other standard user and they assume their
tables are private. And then they have to remember to remove the public sharing.

have a basic sharing UI inside the "add new" object screens, so that for users
with "create public" authorities, you can choose whether to make it public or
private before creating an object.

I think what Lisa is asking for is something we have seen a need for as well,

[Dhis2-users] GIS - Favorites are outdated

2017-07-24 Thread GROUT , Lise
Dear all,

Sorry for all these emails, but trying out this last one.

Since our last update (version 2.27, build 5c148f4), when I try to open my
favorites in the GIS, I get the following error: “Favorites are outdated –
please create a new one”. :-/

Is this a bug?

Thanks

Dear Bram,

Thank you very much for sharing this tip.

However, it seems it does not work with programs… Or at least I am still not
able to map neither my OptionSet Yes/No/Unknown, nor my Yes/No questions,
neither through data elements or through PI…

Anybody has experienced this before? Should be straightforward to map this kind

Hi Lise,

As far as I know, the only work-around right now is to code your qualitative
answers as numbers (e.g. 0 = No, 1 = Yes, 3 = N/A), then create a legend set
with corresponding ranges, see example below.

We've used this for aggregate data elements at country level, but would assume
that it works if you create a thematic layer based on Event data elements. If
that doesn't work then you probably need to create indicators based on your
event data before you can map out by polygon.

Hope this works for you!

[Dhis2-users] "Survey" and "Outbreak summary" at country level

2017-04-27 Thread GROUT , Lise
Dear all,

We are in the process of translating into DHIS2 some questionnaires which would
be shared with countries in order to understand better the status of our
diseases in each country:
-Is this disease notifiable?
-Is there a surveillance system in place?
-Is drug A available for treating patients?
-…

We have also developed another form related to “Outbreak summary”. At the end
of the outbreak, the country will be supposed to share with us
-Number of cases, by gender and age group
-Number of death, by gender and age group
-Likely transmission route
-Measures taken
-…

We were initially thinking in developing these forms as “programs” and “events”
as these information will be collected punctually (as a snapshot), it does not
really represent aggregated data as a sum of individual data, but rather
collective data, we were happy with the possibility of having program rules
(skip logic)…

But at the time of analyzing these data, we face several problem, and notably
two major issues
-GIS App. It is not that straightforward to represent in a map the
yes/no questions at country level
-Disaggregation by gender and age group is largely more complicated
than in datasets

I am therefore wondering if some of you have already experienced this kind of
questionnaires, and what was your final decision (dataset versus program). In
case you have documentation, we would be very happy to read it.

Best
Lise.

Then you should probably do:
-In expression : V{enrollment_count} (by clicking on “counts of

-In filter: #{J9gyc1kuEIZ.Xii6gy92ebp} < 5
Where J9gyc1kuEIZ is the UID of the program
Xii6gy92ebp is the UID of the data element “Age”

Try it and let me know if it works. J

English) in French. When I click on them in the maintenance App, I can see the
translation in French locale.

We have created users with French as default language. But still when we open
event and tracker capture, all the data elements are displayed in English… Are
we missing a step to activate the translations?

We are using Version 2.25, Build: 8feec9a

Dear Lise,

You will need to create two program indicators

1. Count the number of patients enrolled

2. Count the number of patients enrolled who are Female

Then go to Aggregate Indicators and create an indicator using program
Indicators with Indicator 2 as numerator and Indicator 1 and denominator.

Then this can be analyzed in Pivot tables as an aggregate indicator

I have just seen that the program indicators are then available in
“Maintenance”.

Should we therefore create numerators and denominators as “Program indicators”
and the proportion in “Indicators” ?

Hi all,

DHIS version 2.25 is out with a lot of new features, apps and improvements.

Log in with admin/district on the demo system.

ANALYTICS FEATURES
---

External map layers: The GIS app now supports TMS (Tile Map Service), XYZ and
WMS (Web Map Service) layers. These are all popular protocols for map data and
there are numerous map services available, allowing you to display maps for
rivers, roads, weather, land data and everything else. External map layers can
be set up from the Maintenance app, and then be accessed from the top bar in
the GIS app.

Docs GIS | Docs setup | Screenshot 1 | Sc 2 | Sc 3 | Sc Setup | Demo 1 | Demo 2

Push analysis: You can now push data analysis in the form of reports, charts
and maps to your users over email. This allows for improving awareness and
visibility of your data, and can encourage people to more actively look at
analysis. Push analysis is based on dashboards, and can be set up, run and
scheduled from the Maintenance app. You can also run immediately and preview
from the the context menu.

Docs | Screenshot 1 | Sc 2 | Demo

Indicator as filter: A single indicator or data set reporting rate can now be
used as filter in charts and pivots. This allow you to create charts for
example with multiple periods and organisation units.

Docs | Screenshot | Demo

Dashboard translations: The names of dashboards can now be translated, meaning
you can have dashboard names appear in user’s local language.

Docs | Screenshot

Deep linking of favorites: When opening favorites in the Pivot Table and
Visualizer apps, the browser address bar URL will reflect the current favorite.
This allows for easy sharing of favorites through copy-and-pasting the URL.

Screenshot | Demo

Chart rendering: The chart rendering engine has been rewritten from scratch and
now looks better, renders faster and will allow for new chart types in the
coming releases. The Data Visualizer app’s favorite solution has also been
upgraded.

Screenshot | Demo

Favorite description: You can now specify description for pivot table and chart
favorites. This allows you to add more information such as the purpose and
method to interpret the analysis favorite. You can also store titles for pivot
tables. Click rename to change it.

Screenshot | Demo

Interpretations in analytics apps: The Pivot Table and Visualizer apps now have
a right-side panel where you can see details and interpretations for the
current favorite. Click the right-side arrow to open the panel.

Docs | Screenshot | Demo

Data analytics export as raw data: The analytics API now lets you produce
aggregated data exports in the raw data value set format. This is useful for
data exchange, e.g. you can aggregate data in a source system from facility to
district and from months to quarters, and combine data elements using aggregate
indicators or program indicators, before importing as raw data values in the
destination system. You can try it out using the Pivot table app from Download
> Advanced > Data value set XML.

Docs | Screenshot | Demo

GENERAL FEATURES
---

Flexible disaggregation: Data elements can now be disaggregated differently for
each data set they are part of. Put differently, a data element can be linked
to multiple category combinations. When assigning a data element to a data set,
you can define which category combination to use. This is useful in order to
reuse data elements, for instance when different provinces in a country employ
different data disaggregation, or when the disaggregation change from year to
year.

Docs | Screenshot setup | Form 1 | Form 2 | Demo

Soft data value delete: Data values are now “softly” deleted, meaning they are
marked as deleted in the database rather than permanently removed. A new field
deleted has been introduced for data values which is set to true for deleted
values. Softly deleted data can optionally be included when requesting data
through the API by setting the includeDeleted param to true. This allows
clients, such as Android apps and third-party systems, to react when data has
been deleted in DHIS 2.

Docs

Data value audit: The data value import process now generates data value audit
records. This allows for proper auditing of data being ingested from bulk data
imports.

Docs

Predictors: A new data predictor feature allows you to generate data values
based on an expression and several other parameters. This is useful for
generating targets, thresholds and predicted data in the future.

I know there is the possibility of ticking the box of a data element in a
program stage to say “allow provided elsewhere”. This enables to display the
value of a dataelement in a program stage C if it has been provided in a
previous program stage.

But, if a patient is enrolled in several programs, is it possible to use the
value of a dataelement provided in another program?

[Dhis2-users] Same data element used in different programs

2016-09-20 Thread GROUT , Lise
Dear users,

Hope you are fine.

I am just looking for confirmation. I created a data element “classification” =
new case/recurrent case (this actually applies to several data element, but
let’s take this one as an example). As this question is common to different
diseases at admission (to know if it is the first episode of the disease or
not), I first used this same data element in this different disease-specific
programs.

But now I need confirmation that, in the analytical part, the aggregation is
based on the couple program/data element, i.e. that I will be able to retrieve
the number of new cases of disease A and the number of new cases of disease B
separately.

Can you advise if it is wiser to create one data element by program or if I can
use the same data element across different program. I will never have to sum
the new cases across different programs. But I wanted to reduce the
multiplication of data elements.

Thanks in advance,

Re: [Dhis2-users] Tacker villages

2016-09-14 Thread GROUT, Lise
Yes exactly.

In the context of outbreak investigation, or active case screening, it is very
nice to be able to capture the exact location of the house of the patient.

But in routine passive surveillance in health facilities, the health worker
will record the village, but will not be able to capture the exact location
(and it is not really relevant to do so). What is useful, is to be able to
aggregate the number of patients coming from the same village and map them as
belonging to the same point.

But apparently, this will be doable in 2.25. Looking forward to seeing this
feature!

@Lise: If I understand you correctly, you want exactly one set of coordinates
per village, right?

I.e. you are not looking for the location of the house of the patients, but
want two patients from the same village to be recorded under the name of the
village, with the exact same set of coordinates. I think the MapZen solution
that Abyot is working on will provide this.

-Search in the map for villages (coming in 2.25). But it would be good
to be able to extract the name of the village from there (so that it can be

How do you see this?

One possibility is to use our new (coming in 2.25) coordinate capture UI. It
uses mapzen that allows you to search for areas directly in the map and capture
their coordinates. This could help in capturing consistent coordinates.

An issue though is, will all your villages be in mapzen's area database. See
here for more https://mapzen.com/documentation/search/data-sources/

A second possibility is to use option sets. How many villages are you
expecting? We are not loading options in drop down all at once. We use
paging+searching and each time we will only have a maximum of 30 options
displayed in the dropdown.

No, the coordinates will not be different. If you have searched for the same
village name and picked from the system - you will always get the same
coordinate.

Maybe ideally, we could mix:

-Org unit data type for admin 1 (region), admin2(district) as they will
be in the org unit tree (coming in 2.25)

-Search in the map for villages (coming in 2.25). But it would be good
to be able to extract the name of the village from there (so that it can be
used in the analysis) and also to see if a patient has already been captured
from the same village (so that you can should to use the exact same
coordinates).

Our long term vision is to store village names together with coordinates. The
reason we are doing this is to display nice names - than coordinates - in
reports and the like.

How do you see this?

Best

Lise.

[Dhis2-users] Date of enrolment - retrospective data entry

2016-09-06 Thread GROUT, Lise
Dear all,

Sorry for this series of questions...

Still on tracker.

We are doing some retrospective data entry to test a Tracker program.

We first enrol the patients in a programme A. On the registration form, we are
allowed to modify the enrolment date (called date of admission) so that we can
correctly do our retrospective data entry.

After completing this programme A, we would like to enrol the same patient in
disease-specific program (programs B, C or D) to continue data entry. But when
enrolling patients in a new program, we don't have access to the enrolment
date. It is automatically set up as of today.

Obviously, the main purpose of the tracker capture is to enter data
prospectively, i.e. it should not be a problem in "real life". But is there any
mean of changing this behaviour and accessing the enrolment date when enrolling
in a new program?

Best

Lise.

Hi Lise

In program maintenance module, go to attributes, and on the top you will see a
link to "manage attributes with no program"

[Inline image 1]

There you can add what attributes should be available when only doing TEI
registration

Hi Lise,

at the moment you must create a new "Unknown" option. You can give it the same
name and code though as the other Unknowns. The uid will be different.

It is debatable whether this is the right way. We are considering whether to
change the design to allow for re-use of options.

Lars

Hi Lise,

It is possible to re-use the same option set for several data elements, for
example you can have option-set called "Test Result" with these options:
"positive,Negative, Not applicable"..this can be applied to different data
elements like ""Pregnancy test","HIV Test" so that they both pick the same
option-set.

Thank you very much for your quick help!

Very simple use case: the option "unknown" is used in most of my option sets.
Can I use the same "unknown" or do I have to create one "unknown" per option
sets. The option 1 would be more logical, but I don't know how it will work in
the analysis.

Thank you!

You can use the same Option Set in multiple data elements. This will in turn
mean that you use the same options for these data elements.

Using the same options in different option sets is not possible through the UI
- do you have a use case for this?

Best regards,

[Dhis2-users] csv template to import metadata in 2.21

2015-12-14 Thread GROUT, Lise
Dear all,

I used to import metadata using *.csv files, following the structure describe
in the DHIS2 user guide. It does not work anymore since I upgraded to 2.21. I
saw some differences when creating dataelements with the App (for example the
value type is only one variable now). Has the csv template changed?

Have a nice day,

Lise.

Great, metadata import worked perfectly well with updated template!

Thanks a lot,

Hi Lise,

Unfortunately we don't have print from feature for tracker capture - but it is
something that we can implement.

Tabular tracker capture is not part of the core dhis2 apps, so can't really
comment. Hope others will provide some comment.

Thank you,

Dear DHIS2 users,

We are developing a registry on DHIS2, and have some questions:

1. Is it possible to print blank form for tracker capture (or tabular
tracker capture)? I have seen it has been discussed earlier, but could not find
if it has been implemented in the latest version of DHIS2.

2. When we use “Tabular Tracker Capture”, some of us has a strange orgunit
hierarchy appearing. Enclosed, you’ll see “1. Tracker capture.png”, which shows
how org units are organised and appear in “Tracker Capture”, and “2. Tabular
tracker.png”, which shows how it appears on Tabular Tracker Capture. I cleaned
my cache and tried with different browser. For some users it appears correctly.
Any idea?

Thanks in advance,

Lise.

[Dhis2-users] Problem when running data mart management

2015-10-21 Thread GROUT, Lise
Dear users,

I have just created my first data elements, datasets and entered few data. I
would like to try the "Data visualizer App". But when I run the Analytics and
Data mart I get the following message:

Did I forget a step between data entry and data mart management? How can I know
what is the error that makes the process failed?

Thanks in advance,

Lise.
