[Dhis2-users] sort the person attributes (Persons and Programs)

2014-01-22 Thread Jose Garcia Muñoz
Dear all,

Could it be possible in some of the next revisions to include the option of
sorting the values of a person attribute of the type "predefined value"?
For the users it will be quite useful if they want to introduce some kind
of default value.

Thanks
Jose

Hi Jose
I agree, it would be great if we could sort the list of values, configure a
default option and in the absence of a default show the field empty (null) if
nothing has been selected. It's confusing for users when they open a profile
and an option is shown even if the field should be empty.
Best regards,
JM

Hi there,

yes we can do the sorting of predefined attribute values. Frankly it should
have been like that from the beginning.

I think the default option also is sensible. Let me ask: are default values
something you foresee to be needing for all kinds of attributes, not just
the predefined value-type?

Honestly, It is difficult to think in an specific example that would need a
default value for other kind of attributes (different to the predefined
ones). Well, I don´t know, maybe could be a nice feature to implement but I
don´t think is going to be really useful in the 95% of the cases...

Okay thanks. Could a good-enough solution be to

- implement ordering of options
- have the first option be the displayed/selected by default
- allow for putting a blank/null value at the first index of the predefined
options?
