FWIW, my opinion is that an application should use 8-bit-clean widgets and an X keyboard map should be used to allow the special characters to be typed. I've been trying to learn Russian, and there is a tool called xrus which allows the keyboard map to be flipped back and forth between ASCII and KOI8-R Cyrillic characters (which are all between 127 and 255). It works fine in Nedit and in Netscape form fields, provided I set it up with a KOI8-R font. Presumably no font changes would be needed for Spanish, because I think all the necessary accents are in the Latin 1 codepage which is usually used for most fonts. Of course unicode is the future but I don't understand as well how X deals with it. -- ___ Shawn T. For example, I use dia primarily for UML and Network diagrams, and have no interest in ER, Sybase, Circuit, Ladder, and GRAFCET symbols. Ideally, under "Preferences" there would be a section that listed the symbol libraries available and allowed me to check/uncheck which ones I wanted visible in the main display. This would eliminate having to scroll to get to the right symbol page when switching between the sets of interest, and be a nice UI improvement. Thanks, Zach Frey

Bug#19488: grid settings
In the latest cvs version of dia, the grid spacing is saved in the diagram. Grid visibility and other settings are not saved however. As for stability issues, try the latest cvs or wait til 0.86. I think the point is: It's not any harder, but having a double-headed version for every type of arrow adds clutter to the user interface. If lots of double-headed versions are needed, it would be better to rewrite the draw_ functions to accept an additional parameter indicating double-headedness rather than make a whole new draw__doubleheaded function. Of course, then you have to put a button somewhere on the user interface to set the value of the double-headedness parameter passed to the draw_ function. David

The 'standard' -> arrow isn't used for my application. But one would already be an improvement? Why is it harder for all but the 'standard' arrow? thanks a lot, Rogier Thissen
