Thanks!

I have moved the cluster software to a faster, more reliable, PC on
my network. That was no small accomplishment since the Cluster
software was not friendly to a simple transfer. I need a few tests,
I am not sure it is working correctly because I can't connect
myself. While I am working on a few more things, I would appreciate
 some connection tests via

Andy- It works this morning, and makes connection very quickly.
Thanks
I'm sorry I was not available last night- I can feel for you because I went
through a similar, frustrating situation when I changed things around on my
family net. Why is there always something apparently simple that trips us up?
Again- thanks.

Yeah !! It only took me two days to figure out ! Now I can
ditch the old PC and run this new one in the shack, the new one does
not wipe out my HF receiver , so I can actually listen and spot the
digital odes!

[digitalradio] Re: BPL-Busting Modes/Techniques Needed to Mitigate Interference

2005-02-21 Thread Dave Bernstein

If opposing the relaxation of regulations that control unqualified
semi-automatic stations makes me want to be Luddite from your
perspective, Howard, so be it.

From my point of view, the retention of these regulations for
unqualified software and the introduction of a qualification process
would encourage innovation by incentivizing the development of busy
frequency detectors and more sophisticated station automation software
by those interested in access to more spectrum for semi-automatic
operation.

I use Luddites as a generic term to describe those who oppose

Dave, as much as you may want to be, you are not a Luddite...

RE: [digitalradio] [Digital Spotter] Digital spots

2005-02-21 Thread Rick Williams

Is the
Olivia group still active? I have not seen any more posts for several days.
Although I now do not think that Olivia is a good choice for most digital
keyboarding due to the slow speed and wide bandwidth, I would like to see how it
performs with narrower bandwidth (500 Hz maximum) and keeping it under 100 baud.
Has anyone else been able to compare Oliviawith other 500 Hz BW
modes?

If the iso has EN in the title then that is the English version.

Had problems with Knoppix 3.7 and prior versions, it can not find my
sound card. However Simply Mepis with a newer kernel found my sound
card. Simply Mepis is also a Live CD has the very same ham programs
that Knoppix has and is based on Debian like Knoppix.
