[digitalradio] WSPRing out of both sides of mouth

2008-07-18 Thread Andrew O'Brien
With the beta release of WSJT7, I've been toying with ideas for
operating both WSPR beacon and WSPR QSO at the same time. Anyone else
doing that? I see many stations use the old MEPT/WPSR beacon method
and a few non-betaphobic hams trying QSOs a few hundred Hz above the
traditional MEPT frequency ranges (auditory). Now I am wondering if
there is some useful method of identifying a tradition WSPR beacon
that is live and in the shack...available to QSY up the band for a
signal exchange or QSO?

W5AER was just received , as I type this..

024000   5 -12  4.294  0  W5AER EL29 37

Anyone have any idea of how the above could be changed to signify
available to QSY ? Perhaps it is easier to just load WSJT7 and CQ
a bit further up, but having an indicator that you are also monitoring
up band for CQ opportunities  might be useful;
