[digitalradio] MFTTY Tuning information

2009-01-11 Thread Norbert Pieper
There is an update of MFTTY Help file available now.
In the chapter "General" i have added a page named
"Tuning into MFTTY Station"
Feel free to download and study
http://www.polar-electric.com/MFTT/MFTTHelp.chm

Problems with opening the Help file?
Then read this Instructions from Microsoft

Hi Norbert

Thanks for giving us this very interesting and easy to use software. I
have question; what about
using 1500Hz as a default infrequency in instead of 1000Hz ? All my
transceivers (icom's) have their
"sweet point's " at 1500Hz. i USB/LSB

[digitalradio] MFTTY Update 142 is out

2009-01-11 Thread Norbert Pieper
Error in manual tuning of pilot tone corrected
(measured rx frequency was not implemented)

[digitalradio] Re: MFTTY Tuning information

2009-01-11 Thread Norbert Pieper
Hi Steinar,

no problem just click options and enter new Tx Center Frequency
( in the upper right corner ) click apply.

MFTT can handle any Tx Frequency from near zero up to near half of
TX sample rate of soundcard.

Re: [digitalradio] Re: MFTTY on 80m

2009-01-11 Thread Siegfried Jackstien
dear howard
the pilot is a macro that sends a pilot-tone and the beginning of your
transmitted text
it is explained on the homepage how this work but i will try to explain it
the other sees the pilottone on his waterfall
he makes a rectangle with his mousecursor around this line
the programm now is tunet for this frequency and starts decoding text
so normally you only need to send the pilottone at the first transmission
that is the reason why the pilottone is in the cq-button
you can send it also during the other macros but you don´t need to do
for the macros name qth etc ... just click on txtmacro near the upper left edge
of the waterfall
a new window opens where you can put in the name qth etc of the other station
now when you click on the button macro under the waterfall a text will be send
with the
name qth etc of the other station a counter is counted upwards so in a
contest
it is the qso number . hope all is understood well
if you want to play with the soft off-air just put your pc mic in front of your
pc speaker
now you can send text to yourself ... yes the soft can sent and receice
fullduplex
now when you have some practise with the soft
it is time to bring it on the air
there are several people trying out the soft in this group and so the chance to
find somebody
is not to bad ..
if you have comments about the soft or maybe a whish for a function just drop a
mail to norbert or ask here in the group if this "whish" is possible to ad in
the programm
hope i could help

Yessir, the new version works now.

I've found I cannot PTT through the COM1 - it looks
like I'll be using the VOX option instead (which does work).

I am still going through this material and trying to get a
  handle on my "learning curve."

I am not quite sure what to do next other than look for a
MFTTY signal to copy. While I can key the transmitter
VOX and can hear my tones, I don't know if my transmit status
  is fully operational.

I see that I do not have access to audio controls like I would
have with Windows XP. So, I manually turned up my mike
gain to get reasonable RF output.

It's not quite clear to me just how I would get city, name, etc
into the program for use in a MACRO like you have set up
  in the program.

Where does the word "PILOT" fit into all of this, that I've seen
  in the CQ button, etc?

Still plugging along here... thanks for the help thus far!

dear steinar
you can switch it on your own to 1500
but you have to dial your trx 500 hz lower to be on the same frequency when
somebody in the group
sends a mail like :qrv in mftty on 14.075 or something like this
the best way is when somebody wants to make a sked
he should ad af frequency in the announcement like
qrv in mftty on 14.075 + 1500hz mode 1/4speed
so others will find the station easier
good luck with this new mode

Many thanks, Seigfried. I'll digest this and when I get home from work, I'll
begin
to seriously play with the program. I do recall the info regarding the "pilot",
however, after successfully finding myself with the program installed now, I did
not make the connection mentally at first since it's new for me.
