[digitalradio] Best software for RTTY

2009-10-11 Thread obrienaj
Vlad you raise an interesting question. For PSK I think all decode well and it
is simply a matter of personal preference. I like Winwarbler for some of the
extras it provides. For RTTY however, there does not appear to be anything
"new" since MMTTY came out 10 years ago. I think Dave AA6YQ did a few slight
changes to MMTTY last year, but there have been no new applications that I am
aware of that
that have advanced RTTY reception since MMTTY.

[digitalradio] MFSK16 ?

2009-10-11 Thread obrienaj
With RS ID more commonplace, I seem to be seeing a big increase in Olivia but
perhaps at the expense of MFSK16. Is it just my imagination or is there a
serious decline in MFSK16 activity ?

[digitalradio] QRV RFSM-8000 tonight

2009-10-11 Thread obrienaj
I will be operating RFSM-8000 tonight around to 0200 probably around 7077
or 14077 depending on conditions. I will beacon occasionally and try to
remember the baud rate limitation that USA ham have to follow. Hopefully I can
test a few transfers with someone.

2009-10-11 Thread obrienaj
I should double check, am I correct that IF we use the 300 baud mode, RFSM is
legal in the USA ?

  Hello Charles,

For information, in Multipsk you have also a KISS TNC emulation (for Packet
FSK 110/300/1200 and Packet PSK 63/250/1200).

I use MixW the most. As farv as I know, none of the others offer the
virtual KISS TNC emulation that lets you use the software with so many other
programs.

I am wondering, based on you QSOs, what is the most sued multi mode
software these days ? I know in the old days, "Software is Digipan" was the
most common thing we would see , then later Zakanaka or MixW. What about
nowadays, is it DM780, still MixW, FLdigi ? I know there have been polls and
surveys in the past, I am just looking for your on-air observations of what
OTHERS are using.
