Hi Andy,
i don't know how you're able to do it.
May be you run more than 1 session
Normally when i work JT65A i open concurrently JT65-HF1.051, WSJT7 and Multipsk
4.17 and the only that decode multiple signals, same minute, is JT65-HF.
If you want to do the same test you can discover what is the best software.
It needs a big screen and it's better to set a slow watefarfall speed for less
CPU usage, especially for slow PC.

I have been using this software for the past week and it is the best for JT65A.
I can find nothing I don't like about it.  I have a netbook I am using for
digital radio and it very efficient and fast for decoding. Just remember, it is
for JT65A only.

[digitalradio] Software crash

2010-06-14 Thread dist203
I have not been able to run the WSJT software in Vista. At first, all it would
do is provide an error message stating could not create temp directory. Today
software crashed my Vista operating system. I suggest you avoid this software
if you don't want hours of problems.

[digitalradio] Re: Nomic vs. Signalink USB

2010-06-14 Thread JonP
The issue with the Nomic is the fact that you're using the computer sound card
and more computer resources. If you have a newer computer with a good sound
card, and you have decent processor speed and a decent amount of memory, then
the Nomic is every bit as good as the SignaLink and vice versa.

I've tried my Nomic with a new mid-range Dell Vostro laptop, with an older Dell
Latitude laptop (7 yrs old), and with a variety of new netbook computers such
as the Acer Aspire One.

There was no noticeable difference when using the Vostro. The SignaLink was
better with the Latitude than was the Nomic. I had serious problems with the
Nomic on the netbook computers until I upgraded them to 2Gbytes of memory (and
in one case swapped out the sound card). Once I made those changes, the
SignaLink and Nomic performed equally well.

As someone else mentioned, if you have a data jack on the rig, you're better
off connecting to that through a PlugPlay (or the SignaLink) than in using the
microphone and headset interface. If you don't have a data jack, then you'll
have to use the microphone and headset.

Sorry it was 14.106 USB so the cursor was +1250Hz.

As it happens I couldn't get it to work after all.

BPQ would beacon (and MultiPSK would transmit OK) but for some reason an
incoming connect wasn't answered. BPQ would try to answer but MultiPSK didn't
 transmit in that case.

With PAX it was even worse, it didn't transmit in that case at all.

It might be some config error, after all it was using MultiPSK in KISS mode
attached to a virtual serial port which was hooked into AGWPE and finally
 controlled by BPQ32.

Freq is 14.106MHz with the cursor at 1250Hz.

WSJT will decode multiple signals in a close range, automatically. Those
some distance apart can be decoded by clicking on the main graphical display
(where you see signs of a signal) after the stations have stopped and BEFORE
the next sequence has been received.
