[digitalradio] Re: Need help with PSK-31 and my antenna tuner
Hi again, Thanks for the responses so far. The feedback is great and it gives me somewhere to start. I just wanted to update the information and reply to a few questions. My D-STAR radio locks up while I'm transmitting PSK-31 when my antenna tuner is in-line. If I put the antenna tuner to bypass, the D-STAR radio works. This is why I believe there is something going on with the antenna tuner. I mostly use my buddipole set-up for 20 meters in a V-shape up about 20'. I have to guy the antenna, so perfect configurations don't happen a lot. This is why I have to use my antenna tuner to bring SWR back down to 1.5:1 or less. Since my set-up is portable, I don't get a lot of time through the week to set-up and test. My HF work is usually done on the weekend. I will try a few suggestions and post my findings soon. Once again, thank for the responses. [digitalradio] Need help with PSK-31 and my antenna tuner
Hi, I'm having a little problem with my antenna tuner when transmitting PSK-31 above 30 watts. I have a IC-706MKIIG with a MFJ-945E. Both are on their own powersupply and well grounded. When I transmit PSK-31, it locks up my IC-2820H (D-STAR) radio (unable to transmit DV, analog or control the radio). My IC-2820H is on a different powersupply and also grounded. The radios and tuner are about 3-4 feet apart from each other. Additionally, I use to have a KPC-9612 and it also locked up from time to time and had to do a hard reset. I didn't think anything was at fault and have sold my KPC-9612, but the PSK-31/auto tuner could have also been locking it up. Does anyone else have this problem? Can anyone give me good advise about my setup? --73 de Doug (N1OBU)
[digitalradio] Re: HRD / DM780 multitask issue
All, I have the same problem using HRD 4.0 w/SP4 and DM780 on my Dell Latitude C840 (2.2Ghz CPU) with 512Megs of RAM and WIN XP Pro. I'm using a home made sound card interface cable coming from my SB Audigy 2 ZS PCMCIA sound card. --73 de N1OBU (Doug) --- In digitalradio@yahoogroups.com, Tony wrote: > > All, > > Noticed I can't multitask when CQ'ing / transmitting with the latest version > of HRD / DM780. [digitalradio] 8 ohm or 600 ohm audio transformer?
Hi, I've been experimenting with various audio interface(s) from my radio to my sound card. Some suggest using 8 ohm transformers and some suggest using 600 ohm transformer. I'm confused as to why would they suggest using a 600 ohm transformer. The audio output from radios are 8 ohm. The audio output from sound cards are also 8 ohms. Why would I use a 600 ohm transformer? Right now I built the interface by KD5ZUG with 600 ohm transformer and it seems to be working correctly, but I'm wondering if it could be better. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. --73 de Doug (N1OBU Grid FN31XJ)
[digitalradio] Anyone using WINDRM?
Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone is using WINDRM on 20 meters? I've been listening for a while now and don't seem to hear anyone. -73 Doug (N1OBU / FN31XJ)
