Re: [digitalradio] More on the digital net idea

Andy, I like the simplest option.  Easiet for everyone to understand
AND remember.  The other idea could "grow out of" the net once established.

[digitalradio] More on the digital net idea

2005-11-03 Thread Andrew J. O'Brien
There appears to be good interest in a digital net. Opinion is divided
over 80M, 40M, or 30M as a good frequency to try.

Since I suggested a net that meets three time per week, how about this idea?

What about a net that has a net control from a different continent per
night/day. Perhaps Australia on one night, Europe the next and North
American the third night/day. It would be interesting to try pick a band
that would optimize world-wide check-ins but at a time designed to maximize
check-ins from the primary target areas. e,g, for the Australia net, we
would try to find a time that is likely to attract Kiwis and Aussies but has
a least a chance of weak signal propagation to Europe and North America.

Any ideas ?

The other thought is to simply have a net three time per week at , 1200
and 1800 UTC.
