[digitalradio] Re: Digital SSTV?

2006-01-11 Thread Jerry
Yeah,
Have not tried to copy "digital" SSTV for a long time. Got tired of
fighting with all the RTTY signals in the PSK part of twenty meters
this past weekend, so went up to 14.233 and tried using DigiTrx,
didn't work. Guess they are now using HamPal now on "digital" SSTV.
Two different formats, DigiTrx I think uses RDFT and is the "older"
and first try at digital SSTV, HamPal is using DRM or Digital Radio
Mondiale type encode/decode. Signals were to noisy and got to many
errors that I gave up. I didn't feel up to asking for fills, would
have taken all afternoon the way the noise was at my QTH. Went down to
14.230 and even with noise was at least able to view some kind of an
image on Analog SSTV.

Guess this upcomming weekend, January 14th, is another PSK contest, a
total waste of time for me. Anyone want to mess with DominoEX or the
newest version of MultiPsk, Patrick added "video ID" in the waterfall
on some of the modes. For instance sending CQ on Olivia 500Hz, 16
tones one can see in the waterfall "Oliva 16T 500" before the CQ text
is sent. The "image" is pretty weak, but at least a start to ID on
all the MFSK type modes such as Olivia. Even works for BPSK31. The
version number is 3.12 MultiPsk.

download even half of these, and even less time to try them all out.
Do each of these work on the air with all the rest? If not, its no
wonder more people arent into it.

[digitalradio] Re: Digital SSTV

2006-01-12 Thread Jerry
Doc,

The first RDFT "digital" SSTV software was built on Linux. One needed
some of "CYGWIN" files installed on Windows HDD for it to work. I am
not sure if there is "DRM" for hams on Linux yet?
But for RDFT see: http://www.svs.net/wyman/examples/hdsstv/
There is also a digital sstv group on Yahoo:

2006-01-11 Thread Joe Ivey

Yea Jerry I know the feeling. I did get a computer
upgrade, thanks to my daughter buying herself an newer one and giving me her old
1.2 gig. I don't think that digital sstv is for me. I used to listen to the net
during the week days on 7.173 and I could only get 10% of the pictures. I gave
up and deleted that stuff off my computer.
