I've gone back to using standard ALE , as opposed to ALE 400 this weekend. I think ALE 400 is really good but standard ALE has more active users and is still a communication method that I think more hams should try. So, two things this weekend...
1. Try to find me, K3UK. One superb aspect of ALE is the ability to find another station even though you may not know which bands are open or they are actually on. I am QRV this weekend on all common HFLINK/ALE data channels. I am not talking about simply hearing me, I am talking about you transmitting and connecting with me. You do not need to actually hear me to try a standard ALE connect. 2. I have activated the "ambush" command in PC-ALE for certain stations well know to this Yahoo Group. That means that my software is listening for certain callsigns, if it hears them it will issue an automatic connect transmission. So, get QRV with ALE this weekend on common standard ALE frequencies and find out if you are in my "ambush list" -- Andy
