Principal – Java EE, Guidewire Claims Center Development, some predictive
modeling or similar data analytics expertise, demonstrated technical
leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills.

Project: The implementation of several predictive models as defined by our
advanced analytics team. These predictive models will interface with our
Guidewire Claims Center platform and provide enhancements to various
aspects of our claims handling processes.

This individual does not need to be an expert in data analytics to fulfill
the requirements of the role. They need to be able to understand the
models, perhaps provide some suggestions or commentary on the way they work
and implement them. As such, very solid programming and software
development skills are most important.

* Responsibilities:*
• Realize business objectives by developing and deploying robust analytical
models.
• Continually improve our technical frameworks to enhance future
development efforts.
• Play a lead role on an agile software development team.
• Drive architectural decision making and suggest technical alternatives.
• Consult with outside parties and business stakeholders on technical
issues.
• Conduct complex impact analysis.
• Work with teams to ideate software solutions to business problems.
• Participate in the development of guidelines, standards and best
practices.
• Mentor junior members of the development team.


*Qualifications:  *• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or
related discipline.
• Generally 8+ years of professional experience.
• In-depth enterprise-level software development experience.
• In-depth object oriented design and development experience with
Java/J2EE.
• Advanced knowledge of rules engines (DROOLS or similar frameworks).
• Hands on experience with TDD and Unit Testing Frameworks (e.g. JUnit,
TestNG).
• Deep understanding of data storage and retrieval using relational and
NoSQL databases.
• Working knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures and shared software
concepts.
• Experience with open source frameworks.
• Experience using Source Control Management Systems (e.g. RTC, Git, SVN,
ClearCase).
• An evident appreciation of current and emerging technology trends.
• Understanding of statistical modeling and advanced data analytics.
• Negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills.

Client is looking for a talented Foreign Exchange (FX) IT professional for
the role of FX Product Developer to join IT organization as part of a
multiyear strategic growth initiative focused on maximizing market share
growth, expanding into emerging FX markets, and developing new
products/services.

As an FX Product Developer you will be joining a team that engineers the
next generation of FX applications. The FX Product Development team is
responsible for all new development, as well as the re-engineering of
current product solutions across a number of Global Markets businesses.

The Developer position will be an integral part of the FX Product
Development Team and will be responsible for developing and supporting one
or more applications used by FX electronic trading, Sales trading, Risk
management and Agency trading as well as customer facing products such as
Street FX.   The Candidate is expected to be hands-on, and to become a
business subject matter expert. You will work directly with users and
business analysts to understand the business; develop to specifications;
assist in coordinated testing; and aid in the deployment and post
deployment support of the solution developed. As you develop a strong,
interactive working relationship, you will be an important participant in
the commercial success of the business.

The team based in Boston leverages highly Agile software development
methodologies to deliver functionality in a rapid, incremental fashion. The
developer will also engage in matters of architecture, design, and
implementation of the core re-usable functionality used to implement the
Accelerated Growth Program.

Candidates with a track record for delivery and market experience
developing solutions for participants in actively traded markets will find
opportunities to leverage their real life experience in a highly
collaborative global organization.



• 8+ years of Java programming experience - strong preference for work on
low latency, high throughput, globally distributed systems

• Experience working within a financial institution within Front Office IT
- with exposure to the business.  Knowledge of financial industry concepts
and terms

• Strong analytical skills, architectural competency, and the ability to
see how code and applications should be developed and implemented within
the context of a broader architectural landscape. An ability to speak
cogently with enterprise architects, and an understanding of common
enterprise integration patterns, is a must

• The ability to critically consider existing architectural and development
standards and best practices, and advocate for compliance and improvements
to those standards

• A knack for interacting directly with the business to receive and analyze
requirements, and propose a suitable solution that adheres to business
needs as well as the development team’s programming methodologies and
methods

• A history of delivering successfully within an Agile environment, and the
flexibility and adaptability to operate successfully in such an
environment, within a short (2 week) iteration period. Familiarity with
core agile principles, as well as with key Agile ceremonies (demos,
retrospectives, iteration planning)
