OH, I agree, which is why the new key, but it turns out GPG injection is possible, so someone could do it. Yeah, he¹s trying to starup, but it¹s not like open sourcing thing have help ed in the end see *racle. Anyway, Yes, Thunderbird has support on desktop. GPG Suite plugs in a bunch. I still don¹t understand why chromium doesn¹t support plugins at all. -Ben On 8/31/16, 11:14 PM, "Discuss on behalf of Kent Borg"wrote: >On 08/31/2016 11:04 PM, Ben Carr wrote: >> It does GPG injection of Outlook and Google, the dev is also SUPER SUPER >> responsive, thought not open to relicensing the code. > >Which doesn't very open source. > >-kb, the Kent who sees little reason to trust security code that no is >supposed to look at. > >___ >Discuss mailing list >Discuss@blu.org >http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@blu.org http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [Discuss] 4-Bay NAS
Check out the thread from Last July (2011), it started as: [Discuss] Small Linux server recommendation? and became: [Discuss] D-I-Y NAS enclosures I bought an HP Microserver N36L which has been replaced with the N40L Model, it is not silent but is very quiet, the loudest aspect is when the drives initially spin up. It is an AMD Neo 64bit Processor, mine has 8GB ECC and 4x2TB of disk in RAIDZ, I am running FREENAS on it. It is possible to add a SSD for the SIL files if you want by using the SATA cable and bay for the optical drive. It also has USB and an eSATA port, and a couple of PCIe ports available. You can add a SAS card (for Hardware RAID to the backplane) or for external storage as well. It has been quite stable for me. -Ben ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@blu.org http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [Discuss] D-I-Y NAS enclosures
Just a follow up, I ordered today, the price dropped to $289 - $10 NEWCUSTOMER10 coupon, which brought it to $279 shipped with a free LG DVDRW. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16859105905 This is for the model with the 200W PS, 1GB Dimm, and 160GB HD. Both of which will be recycled to a friend or given to the BU BUILDS group. I agree with Tom, there is not much out there in low power, do-it-yourself NAS configurations at the moment. But drawing 40W with 4HDs and Prime95 I think I have a winner on my hands. This will be replacing a DNS-323, likely with a FreeBSD/ZFS install. -Ben ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@blu.org http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [Discuss] Small Linux server recommendation?
Robert, I am looking for a hardware recommendation for a Linux server. Price under $500 ($300 ideal). What should I be looking at? Shuttle? Dell? I am personally enamored of the HP Proliant Microserver if you don't need heavy lifting on this server and power is a consideration. It has a 64bit AMD Athlon II Neo processor, two DIMM slots (supports ECC), one gigabit NIC, a four drive cage (not hot-swap), internal USB port, and two open half-height-half-length PCIe slots. If you look around you will find lots of reports on it working with BSD and Linux, many people are throwing in a new SAS card, it's even VMWare certified! HP's Website: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF05a/15351-15351-4237916-4237918-4237917-4248009.html A review discussing power draw: http://www.silentpcreview.com/HP_Proliant_MicroServer Review with all the schematics: http://www.techhead.co.uk/new-hp-proliant-microserver-a-decent-vsphere-lab-server-candidate It is $330 from NewEgg with a throw away 250GB drive and 1GB of Ram. I wish they would sell it bare for $50 less but the don't. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16859105954 As for a heavy lifting server I am limping til Bulldozer comes out in ~October. Whether I end up going AMD or Intel, added competition in the low-mid range server market will hopefully lower prices on both sides of the fence. If anyone has any other suggestions I would love to hear them! -Ben ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@blu.org http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [Discuss] Anyone tried Sparkleshare.org yet?
I have to add that I was looking at it is a solution as well (and a move away from dropbox) and only with a handful of users. While it works for me it's not there for other, even technically talented, users. We were using the mac front-end 0.2 package and a linux server with git as the backend. As mentioned, the fact that ~/Sparkleshare isn't the replicated folder but is the container for sync'ed folders was only the first line of confusion. One another list it was pointed out that this is a reboot/complete rewrite of the old Novell ifolder product. Has anyone had success with that product? It too is open source: http://ifolder.com but it is built on Mono at this point, just a warning for those who dislike .NET. -Ben ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@blu.org http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
