Re: [steering-discuss] Add LGPL as license for wiki uploads?

Hi,

between the licenses.

good point.

Thanks, but...

1) the text is too long for the selection list
Perhaps you could write:
CC Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 / LGPL 3+ / MPL 1.1

Changed it now to CC Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0, and LGPL 3+, and MPL 1.1

and move the long version to the template?

2) the template showing the license texts (or linking to them) hasn't
been created by now.

Which template?

Re: [steering-discuss] Re: Add LGPL as license for wiki uploads?

2010-12-18 Thread Florian Effenberger

Hi,

Dr. Bernhard Dippold wrote on 2010-12-18 12.23:

Once you chose a license, a template is added to the page.

For the CC by-sa license I created
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Template:CC-by-sa-3.0 because I got a
redlink when wanted to license my first upload. (As I didn't read any negative
feedback, I hope the wording is allright)

The new license doesn't have a template containing the license information /
links to the license texts, so I got a redlink again. But instead of describing
what I think has to be done, I just managed to write a short description and
added the necessary links:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Template:CC-by-sa-LGPL-MPL

Please improve my wording and/or change the links if necessary.

ah, thanks for clarifying! Don't have the time for this before my
Christmas vacation, but if someone wants to improve the wording (if
necessary :-) let me know, I can then upload the modified text.

[tdf-discuss] [website][drupal] The Drupal website development update - December 2010

2010-12-18 Thread Michael Wheatland
I thought it was about time to share some of the progress that the
Drupal website development team has made since the last update.
You can view the progress of the site at www.libreofficeaustralia.org
(Note that international pages have not yet been setup)

I would like to express my thanks to everyone who has been
contributing to the Drupal site development so far, the development of
the workflows and behind the scenes systems is fantastic.
Since the last update we have:

Put together a temporary theme (So people can get a feel for the site)
Created a video support section, where authorised people can submit
externally hosted tutorial videos
Refined some of the forums systems (Still working on the mailing list
type functionality)
Created a governance system whereby SC members can propose agendas and
submit meeting minutes
The system automatically displays info on the next
upcoming meeting from proposed agendas and you can play minutes
recordings without downloading the file
Setup a facebook support page where anyone can ask questions. We are
currently working on ways for two way communication with FB and other
social networks.
In the process of creating an interactive FAQ section
Creating the concept for the brainstorm system - This is a big
undertaking and needs to be planned carefully for integration with
other systems
Interactive Project Teams now have their own forums and announcement
areas (restricted posting to team members only)

There are many other facets of work which I will not go into right
now, but suffice to say that I am very proud of the work that the
Drupal Website Development Team is doing.
We will soon have more contact with the project teams to refine and
revise the work we have implemented to suit their UI and workflow
needs.

The main area which we will concentrate on after the new year will be
internationalisation and working with the native language teams to
adapt our website design to suit their needs and incorporate
suggestions from those teams across all languages.

Again, a huge thankyou to all of those who have been involved with the
development so far. There is still a lot of development to go for the
resulting community site ,I encourage you to get more involved (time
permitting) now, or after LibreOffice 3.3 has been released into the
wild.

This is critical when attempting to have OOo and LibO co-exist on Windows.

- LO takes over all OOo application defaults icons.
- LO uses the same executable names as OOo (soffice.exe, swriter.exe,
etc). This makes it impossible to select an .odt and re-associate it
with OOo.

Several people have commented here that Calc sounds like a calculator program, not one with the
kinds of features a spreadsheet provides. A spreadsheet is well understood to provide not only
calculations, but also simple database-type and text layout capabilities -- there are plenty of
people who use a spreadsheet when what they're really doing is creating a text document!
Spreadsheet includes, but is not limited to, calculations, so being a spreadsheet is more
accurate. It truly is the purpose of Calc (or Spread, or whatever we call it).

However I think for 3.3 it is better to maintain the OOo names and then (3.4, 4.0, ...) rethinking
icons, names and so on.

Any documentation released with the first LibO will necessarily have the old names to avoid delays,
but we'll need this determined soon for the development of LibO-specific documentation.
