[tdf-discuss] Start as uno listener by default

2011-05-26 Thread Hans-Peter Jansen
Hi,

I would like to know, how it is archived to setup the LO equivalent to
the method described here:

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DevGuide/ProUNO/Starting_OpenOffice.org_in_Listening_Mode

which boils down to replace

with

  socket,host=localhost,port=2002;urp;StarOffice.ServiceManager

in ~/.ooo3/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Setup.xcu.

Since the whole hierarchy below ~/.ooo3/user/registry seems to be gone,
there's only one hanger left, in my case, it's called:

~/.libreoffice/3-suse/user/registrymodifications.xcu

but that file changed significantly enough in structure to not be able
to semantically transcode this guide (after proper intending..).

Any enlightenment is welcome.

Cheers,
Pete

[tdf-discuss] Question

2011-05-26 Thread Marius Popa
Hello! I am Marius Popa again, with a new question for you. Is it possible
to add headers and footers with a different context depending on the pages I
want to edit? Here, I refer to magazine, which have different headers and
footers depending on the kind of every article. Thanks in advance.

Yes, a different page style for every article is the way to go.

It would be nice of you if you had a more describing subject than just
”Question”. If you didn't have a question you wouldn't writer here at
all, right? If your subject describes your problem or question with a
few words, I think it's more likely that ”the right people” read it
and give you a good answer.

You do not necessarily need a different page style. It is possible to do
this with one or two page styles using variable fields in the headers
and footers, although this depends on what information you want to go
into the headers and footers and how you have set up the articles.
General instructions for this are given in the chapter on Fields in the
Writer Guide. User guides such as the Writer Guide have variable footer
information.

[tdf-discuss] Troubles with file associations - Win XP

2011-05-26 Thread buchs
I recently installed LO on a Windows XP machine on which I had Open Office
installed. I did not select the option to have file associations set up for
MS Office extensions to LO. I then started all the LO applications, thinking
they may be importing settings from OO like they did on my Linux machine.
Then I uninstalled OO. Now, I found the file associations are lost. Trying
to manually assign them has failed. From Windows Explorer, I can right
click, select Open With, then navigate to the LO executable via the browse
button (it is not listed on the applications list) and select the right one,
but when I click OK, it goes back to a MSO association (like Excel for
.ODS). I used to have those associations working to open the OO apps. I
didn't find a way in Tools/Options to reset the file associations. I can
probably reinstall to see if that fixes it. I wanted to check here to see if
anyone else knows what is going on and if a bug has been reported.
