Florian Effenberger wrote: Hello, thanks a lot to everyone for their great and creative contribution to the discussion, which I consider really fruitful. Even if I didn't reply to every message, I read them all. It is already rather clear, that there is a real overwhelming support for having our own forums. I counted only one or two -1, everyone else was in favor of hosting forums on our own. If I remember correctly, those who voted -1 were not against TDF hosting our own forums, they were against the idea of forums in general. So it seems like most everybody who is in favor of forums at all, feels that TDF should host them. -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to discuss+h...@documentfoundation.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.documentfoundation.org/www/discuss/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
Re: [tdf-discuss] Re: [libreoffice-website] official forums
Ordinary (common,normal...) users uses only one office suite instaled on their pc's or work stations. Professionaly each developer must build your own support system. Apache OO has another aproach and visions to OpenOffice and is not our responsability make libreoffice "full" compatible with all other open office packs. You dont do this with Microsoft Office, everyone is saying - use ODF and stop anoying... - TDF can host streaming videos support by your oficial members. There's also this not-so hypothetical scenario. A user of LibreOffice has a question. He comes across an existing forum (dealing with a *related* office suite). He signs up, asks the question and is replied to courteously and promptly. More questions. More satisfactory answers. At some point someone in that forum suggests moving to the *related* office suite. What would the user do? 5.
