[tdf-discuss] LibreOffice meeting (hacking, writing) in Utrecht, Saturday June 9th

2012-06-07 Thread Cor Nouws

Hi all,

For those that are able to come to Utrecht next Saturday:
there will be a LibreOffice meeting!

It is from the Dutch Language group (so Flanders and The Netherlands)
and we do both hacking in code and work on documentation.

And often we also meet old friends from the OOo-time there.

The meeting is part of an event from the Dutch Linux Users Group, NLLGG:
  http://www.nllgg.nl/bijeenkomst_20120609

Info on the Dutch language wiki:

http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Main_Page/nl#Beurzen.2C_presentaties.2C_bijeenkomsten:_agenda

Kind regards,

[tdf-discuss] Moving comments in LibreOffice Writer documents

2012-06-07 Thread Kurt Lhotzky
Dear List,

is it possible to move a comment in a writer document to another
position? When collaborating on a document it sometimes happens that
whole paragraphs are changed or deleted, but a comment fits exactly to a
similar thought in another part or the document.
At present, we copy the contents of the respective comment, delete it
and paste it into a new comment. Is there a better way to solve this
little problem?

Kind regards,

Kurt

[tdf-discuss] Re: Annoying Typo in Bugzilla (results in possible Duplicates)

2012-06-07 Thread Tom Hart

Its fixed.

Am 06.06.2012 22:44, schrieb Tom Hart:

Hello,
in the Component Description of Database, Drawing,
Presentation and Spreadsheet, but _not_ Writer is an
dangerous/annoying typo, i.e.:
Spreadsheet:
For problems concerning the spreadsheet application. If applicable,
please use one of the following key words in the Summary for more
detailed specification:EDITING, FILEOPEN, _FILESAFE_, FORMATTING,
PRINTING, UI

It has to be FILESAVE (with an V) instead of FILESAFE (with F).

Dangerous because this can result in possible duplicates, as quite
some people (including me) already fell for it:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/buglist.cgi?list_id=82882short_desc=FILESAFEquery_format=advancedshort_desc_type=allwordssubstrproduct=LibreOffice

and of course extra work for QA to correct the bug subjects... :-/

Note that also the BSA (https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/) is
affected, but only the description. Subcomponent field and the transfer
to bugzilla is fine.

So please someone with sufficient rights fix this ASAP.

Thanks
Tom

When you go to the position where the comment points to, you find there
an invisible, non-spacing character which you can copy and paste or move
to another position.

Kind regards,
Christian.

[tdf-discuss] Impossible d'installer Libre Office 3.5

2012-06-07 Thread jacmaz

2012-06-07 Thread Kurt Lhotzky
Dear Christian,

thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, I cannot have a grip on this
invisible non-spacng character. I tried (with the view-options to make it
visible, but in vain... It is a little bit like my friend Harvey, the invisible
2 metre tall white hare ;-)...

I am running LO in Ubuntu 12.04, and that's up to now the first problem I
encountered in my workflow.

Regards from Vienna,

Kurt

Hi Kurt!

You can download an extention, making the place of notes visible, from here:

Thanks, JusSi,

I installed the extension, but I couldn't see any change. In fact, maybe
my wish to easily move comments in a writer document is really a very
singular need and therefore not part of the features of LibreOffice. I
can live without it, but I thought there would be a versatile solution...

Kurt

This is strange. If you restart LibO after the installation you should see
a small triangle in the place where the note is located. And if you select
View / Comments you should see the note in the margins with a line showing
its place in the text.

I like this extension very much. In my opinion, it should be part of the
standard installation.

Re: [tdf-discuss] Moving comments in LibreOffice Writer documents

2012-06-07 Thread Kurt Lhotzky
Hi, JusSi -

I see the small triangle and the comments without any extension. My problem is
that I cannot move the triangle to another location in my documents. That's my
problem: That I want to easily move comments to other places.

I just made an astonishing discovery: When exporting my LO-writer-document to
google drive (AKA google text and documents) and convert the odt in google
docs-format, I see my comments and can move them with ease: I can click on the
sign where the pointer to the comment starts and move it round in the dcument...

Kind regards,

Kurt

If you like it and think it should be installed at the start (or perhaps
even integrated), feel free to open a bug and ask for it as a feature
request. Who knows, it may be added to the standard install for the next
version.

Cheers,
