[board-discuss] [4.0] Review
Hi to all board members, as 4.0.0 is rolled out there should be a review about what happened: The good points, the bad points What can we do in the same way, what in a better way the next time? What is needed to get it better? A discussion may cause some budget thoughts, community handling, marketing concepts, Whiteboards, Easy Hacks etc. IMHO the board should be the starting point and the lead of such a discussion to give it a direction for the whole community. What do you think? -- Grüße k-j

In addition, I will spend the following amounts for my trip to the US in late March, based on a thorough research of the least expensive options: sorry for my late reply, and thanks so much for all your activity! I assume you are talking about the decision # 20121220-01 from https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/TDF/BoD_Decisions, right? The US trip could prove more expensive than planned because of taxes on lodging, which are difficult to understand as they are not shown on the hotel rates, and other possible extras. I have booked hotels different from the event suggested ones, as I have found cheaper options (but unfortunately not so cheap). I hope to spend the lowest figure, of course, but I prefer to ask in advance than to create a problem afterwards. 1. Thanks for any information. currently the color of the watermark and the font/typeface are hard coded. There is no option to change that yet. Regards, Andreas To get around that limitation[s], why not create a watermark image and place it in the background? I made a very faded color image and placed it in the background in several places on a letterhead. It was so light and faded it could be printed, but would not show up when copied. Althoughthey did not need it, that allowed them to have a way to make sure no one could make copies of the document[s] and claim that it was the original. The color image printed out well in either bw or color. So, if you really need to have a watermark design that cannot be done with the watermark option, try doing that. To be honest, I created the letterhead using OpenOffice.org and did not know how to use any watermark feature. So I used what I knew how to do, the background image. -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to discuss+h...@documentfoundation.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.documentfoundation.org/www/discuss/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

[tdf-discuss] Wanted: Libreoffice php-based document management server
Hello, Nice work on LibreOffice 4, however, if I'm being greedy, I would also like a LibreOffice, php-based, document management server. I'm no php guru, but I'm a lot more comfortable with a php-based solution than a java-based solution. Hopefully more of the php-based CMS will begin offering CMIS plugins for documeant management, but I think a LibreOffice solution, A-to-Z (shared calendar), would be better. At the very least, the foundation should adopt an existing php-based CMS and push a CMIS document management plugin, or you can add a LibreOffice gpg extension, partner-up and create a AbiCollab.net-type solution which could generate revenue from users that sign up for Pro accounts via LibreOffice.org At any rate, commercial open source is open source backwards.

I have now added an explicit link from the entry Docs wiki page to the video tutorials section on the 3rd-party page. Now that we are putting a longer list of video tutorials on that page, we may need to split them off onto a separate page. If we do, we'll leave a link on the 3rd-party page to the new location. The list of videos will need to be organised into logical, labelled categories at some point, too. --Jean On Wed, Feb 13, 2013 at 10:25 AM, Jonathan Aquilina eagles051...@gmail.com wrote: Great work Jean :) looks great hope a lot of other users will find this page as it's a great feature :) -Original Message- From: Jean Weber [mailto:jeanwe...@gmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 13, 2013 7:16 PM To: Jonathan Aquilina Cc: dennis.hamil...@acm.org; Simon Phipps; discuss@documentfoundation.org Subject: Re: [tdf-discuss] Help vendor-lock-in awareness It's Simon's tutorial, and this wiki page links to his YouTube video (scroll down a bit to find it): https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Other_Documentation_and_Re sources#Video_Tutorials --Jean On Wed, Feb 13, 2013 at 6:24 AM, Jonathan Aquilina eagles051...@gmail.com wrote: Dennis any chance to add your hybrid pdf tutorial to the wiki somewhere? -Original Message- From: Dennis E.
