No

Writer = 26%
Calc = 55%
Impress = 10%
Draw = 7%
Base = 0%
Math = 2%

Writer: Letters, business proposals, reports, business cards, flyers,
assignments (several with objects from from Calc, Draw and Math)

Calc: business proposals, provisions, business calculations, charts,
stock system (AgerLager .ots-template)

Impress: Presentasions of FOSS (FOSS in general, OOo/LibO, Linux and our
Danish Open Source business accounting system SALDI).

Draw: Diagrams, flowcharts and an origami CD/DVD case with info on
front and back printed only on one side of the paper (used for promoting
OOo 1.x in Scandinavia).

Base: Only tested it

Math: Assignments for a cource in Business Economic written in Writer.

The cource in Business Economic is also a showcase for my self to use
Writer, Calc and Math in the 4 hour exam. So at every lection I use them
for notes and creating the spreadsheets and formulas which would be a
great help for the exam.

I haven't been at an exam for 15 years - and nowadays you can bring your
own pc with everything you want except a connection to the rest of the
world. When you're finish you copy your files to an USB stick and take
to another pc where you print it out.

This will be my finest written exam ever.

-1

Verdana is a proprietary Microsoft font.

Sorry, didn't knew that.

Then it is also a -1 from me to my own suggestion.

Bitstream Vera or Liberation fonts should be readable everywhere, too.

I would see Verdana as one of the pre-installed fonts aswell.

Re: [tdf-discuss] Version Numbers?

As a concerned user, if LibreOffice is meant a independent office project
derived from the OpenOffice code then why do we still use their version
numbering system. Wouldn't it be better to start from 1 to reinforce in
peoples minds that we are a separate project
I will suggest another version scheme like the one the Linux
distribution Ubuntu uses.

The year and month: 9.04, 9.10, 10.4 and 10.10.

I know it is very difficult to release at a specific month because there
could be a lot of issues that postpone a release date.

Maybe it should only be the target to have one major release each year
and smaller updates and security releases with minor version numbers:

Yearly major release: 11 and 12
Update release: 11.1, 11.2 and 12.1
Security releases: 11.0.5, 11.1.5, 11.2.5, 12.0.5 and 12.1.5 (security
release 5)

Just a suggestion.

what do you don't like about our GUI
I can see that these questions has been asked on both the LibreOffice
and OpenOffice.org discuss mailing lists.

As a coming LibreOffice user I would like general look and feel of the
current GUI but with small changes like color tones and similar.

This way it will generally look and feel like using OpenOffice.org but
with a sense that it is new.

Re: [tdf-discuss] New name

2010-10-02 Thread Claus Agerskov

Hi all

I don't like the name LibreOffice.

But I don't think the time is right for a new name yet.

The community behind the office suite have to be established both
concerning the existing office suites based on OpenOffice.org - do they
become a part of this or will the be on the sideline. And concerning
which kind of organisation it will become.

Oracle has not stated if they will give the rights to the name
OpenOffice.org to us so the name could be kept - or we really have to
continue with LibreOffice or find a new name.

If the work on a new name should be started then we have to set up a
list of guidelines for such name - and keep the work on the new name on
a closed mailing list so others wont registrate the name and domain
names before we had the time to do it ourselves.

And open competition to get more name suggestions from everyone could
still be in the open - but not the work on selecting the name.

I would be interested to be in such a workgroup.
