Re: [tdf-discuss] Co-working with Moz, etc

2011-01-07 Thread Rogerio Luz Coelho

 Nobody told me, that's the problem, i have been asking a lot about that,
 and
 nobody seems to be interested, nor knows anything. So that's why I'm
 wondering why. I think that is the future, there will be less and less fat
 client apps, and more and more browser based apps. The main reason is
 interoperabilty and platform independence. With ann HTML5 Office suite, you
 just need a browser, and you can even install it locally. Now LO develops
 several versionsfor different platforms, which cost more resources.

Nobody wants to start building a HUGE NEW PROJECT like it would mean to
start a HTML5 before we get a consistent, fairly bug free client to work on
... Remember LiO is only in RC stage right now

Now for installing the Writer / Calc / Draw / Impress separate, it is not
how the Ooo works, the program starts, and THEN it goes on to see what files
it is opening, so it actually is ONE BIG program that after start-up
modularizes itself, that's one of the reasons it is faster than the
competition.

Re: RE : [tdf-discuss] Re: Mac App Store

2011-01-07 Thread Rogerio Luz Coelho
Ok that's it last message I read on this thread

My impression

JAVA = NO APP STORE

LIBREOFFICE = JAVA

therefore (for the near future)

LIBREOFFICE = NO APP STORE

Thanks guys , I really hoped this would happen, but, alas life is tough ;)

 I think the search should be from the beggining by default, but the
 option
 should be configurable. And it should be a one box selection.

 . My small 2 cents

 Personally I almost always search from the current location, so I
 would prefer it not search from the beginning by default.

 What they are referring to is that the search should go back to the start
 of the document when it reaches the end and search back to the starting
 point.

Re: [tdf-discuss] Just make the damn thing work! (was Re: Dictionary Syncing)

2011-01-04 Thread Rogerio Luz Coelho
In Brazil the leading dictionary is VERO (BrOffice's - LibreOffice default)
the only one that ships with most of our new orthography ... so it IS
possible for FOSS to bring a BETTER thing to the table, we in Brasil are no
longer running AFTER MSO , we are seing them at our rear mirror ;)

 And I guess I should have clarified as well - I absolutely agreed with
 the idea, I just disagreed with the apparent characterization (which I
 see was just a misinterpretation on my part) of 'LibO vs MSO'...

[tdf-discuss] .deb for other languages missing in download site

2010-12-23 Thread Rogerio Luz Coelho
Hello,

This is my first message to the list so please bear with me.

If this has already been looked at I am trully sorry.

I am trying to download the pt-br language pack for the RC2, and when I go
to the link

http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/testing/3.3.0-rc2/deb/x86_64/

there only goes to language pack for the LO locale. Seems something got lost
in the transition.

Will test the RC2 for EN only for a while.
