Re: [IxDA Discuss] New local group in Porto Alegre / Brazil

2009-04-09 Thread Gustavo Gawry
Are you guys in Brazilian lists like Desinterac and Aifia-pt? You should
look for people over there... I know that there is a bunch of IAs in Porto
Alegre.
If you need any help you can count with me or any other of the brazilian
local leaders, I'm sure they will be glad to help.

Cheers,
Gawry

Re: [IxDA Discuss] Mouse tracking

2008-10-30 Thread Gustavo Gawry
I've just find out that OGAMA (OpenGazeAndMouseAnalyser) can record mouse
movements (and be used for eye tracking data analysis). But only in a
slideshow that you create inside the application. I'm not really sure of the
kind of usage that can be made with that but I think that might be
interesting.

ps: You will need SQL Server express and .NET 2.0 to use OGAMA

[IxDA Discuss] Mouse tracking

2008-10-29 Thread Gustavo Gawry
I've thought many times on using mouse tracking data to evaluate usability
but I never saw a tool for doing this
as many (or most) of us I don't work only with web so this is can't be used
by folks who are working on desktop applications.
recently I find out a online service that do mouse tracking, replays ( as
many others ), but the real difference is that they
create heat maps and shows the mouse movements path, because watching mouse
movements videos can be really time wasting.

http://vulabs.com

I thought about doing my own tool for that joining these 2 (shown bellow)
open source tools but
I'm not really a programmer so if anyone here can do that and release to the
OSS community I ( and many others) would appreciate.

Re: [IxDA Discuss] Whistler Trip after IxDA

Hey Todd,

Well from $600 to $1500 it is a big difference... I think I may spend $600
in the trip, but $1500 is definitely not an option for me...
Consider that everything we are talking here is going to cost me
proportionally the double...
Considering I'm going to pay 25 bucks per night in Vancouver's hotels It's
not my intention to spend much more there...

Re: [IxDA Discuss] Heuristic Evaluation Criteria for Physical Devices

2008-09-30 Thread Gustavo Gawry
You should take a look at the Ergonomic criteria for human-computer
interaction from Bastien and Scapin.

Re: [IxDA Discuss] Next & previous button order

2008-09-17 Thread Gustavo Gawry
At least the Tab problem you can solve easily with the HTML property
tabindex... then you can choose which fields come first...

I was going to say that you should put the Next button in the right side and
the Previous in the left, because that always made more sense to me... But
now as Caroline said that in her studies she had better results with the
opposite, I'm not really sure of what you should do.

Re: [IxDA Discuss] Axure Pattern Library

2008-09-10 Thread Gustavo Gawry
I think it's really useful either... I aways thought why no one ever did
that... :-)
I've sent to some friends that will definitely like that..Hopefully I will
make some contributions...
Thank you Loren for sharing with us...
