Hello, I am helping to organize the 2010 Geomatics Atlantic conference and I would *REALLY* like to see some presentations from the OSGeo community at the conference. Anyone interested? Hello, we have created a new mailing list for Local Chapters. If you are a liaison officer of a Local Chapter or interested in creating one then please hop on this this list: http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/local-chapters It is intended to allow for a dialog on what Local Chapters are and what you thing they can achieve. The overarching vision is to support and integrate initiatives around Free and Open Source Geospatial in the local context. I subscribed too. I'm the board rep for the California Chapter. I'm really just filling in for the rest of 2010 until we can find someone to do the job well. :] Two of my biggest challenges with the California Chapter have been: (1) Dealing with a large geographic area. (2) Getting people with a diverse set of interests involved enough to accomplish anything more concrete than an annual meeting. I'd love to hear how other chapters might be overcoming similar obstacles.
