Re: [OSGeo-Discuss] regional conferences
Charter members are able to join the conference committee right? I would invite those interested in helping with this decision to join the committee. A vote that is not backed by effort does not reach very far. -- Jody Garnett On Tuesday, 19 June 2012 at 4:14 AM, Jeff McKenna wrote: Maybe this is off-topic for the subject, but, here's a thought: I propose to let OSGeo Charter members vote for the location of the annual FOSS4G event. Re: [OSGeo-Discuss] regional conferences
Ah, how come I always had the impression it was for old conference organizers only... Funny how such idea just sticks in ones head. But I guess you have a point here. I'm considering joining if there's a need for new people? [OSGeo-Discuss] Announcement tools at OSGEO?
All, GeoMoose 2.6 is on the verge of being released. I recall having the announcement of (major) releases being added to the OSGEO news feed in the past and that I had to ask someone about this. Are there any other similar tools/processes from the OSGEO side? Thanks bobb ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [OSGeo-Discuss] Announcement tools at OSGEO?
Bob, News announcements should be sent to news_i...@osgeo.org as described at: http://www.osgeo.org/content/news/submit_news.html That goes to me, and I'll try and post it to the web site and announce list. For software releases I normally only put through major releases as opposed to point releases. Sometimes I lose track of the items, so feel free to prompt me after about 24 hours if you haven't got a confirmation from me that it is posted. GeoMOOSE (www.geomoose.org) is an open source web application framework for displaying geographic data. What makes GeoMOOSE unique is it provides an out-of-the-box solution that makes it easy for non-developers to create web-mapping applications with typical tools such as navigate, search, measure and print. Non-developers only need to be comfortable with configuration files. GeoMOOSE has a number of strengths including modularity, configurability, and delivers a number of core functionalities in its packages. The project has targeted local government business cases to distribute land records information, but many other users have used it for much more. Since GeoMOOSE is open source project it built on other popular open source projects such as OpenLayers (www.openlayers.org) and MapServer (www.mapserver.org). To get started with GeoMOOSE, simply go to the download page and install the software demo.
