2023-07-16 Thread Koushikey Chhapariya
Hello Everyone!

This is my weekly report for the ZOO-Project (8th July-17th July). The list
of tasks is summarised below:

   - Looked for the localhost connection error in the core section for the
   TestJobResults. [1]
   - Run Job results on Swagger.ui for localhost and zookernel [2]
   - Installed apache2 to configure the docker log error in the local
   system [3] [4]
   - Passed all the tests for OGC-API Processes 1.0 [5]

What am I planning to do next week?

   - Start testing for OGC-API Processes 2.0

Am I blocked on something?

   - No.

Any feedback and suggestions are welcome.

A detailed version of the report can be found on the Wiki Page of the
Project [6]

[OSGeo-Discuss] Why Africa must have a voice in global talks

2023-07-16 Thread Suchith Anand via Discuss
Colleagues,

These two articles might be of interest to governments and researchers.
Details below

Researchers back African Union to join G20 group of largest economic powers.
Including African Union in the G20 is a matter of ethics and fairness,
researchers say. Details at https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-023-01014-z

Reuters article on India seeks African Union's full membership in G20

https://www.reuters.com/world/indias-modi-seeks-african-unions-full-membership-g20-2023-06-18/

The theme of India’s G20 Presidency - “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth ·
One Family · One Future” - is drawn from the ancient Sanskrit text of the Maha
Upanishad.

Best wishes

This article on “AI regulation: Why Africa must have a voice in global talks”
might be of interest.

“ Indeed, the idea of a new international watchdog overseeing this new
technology could be very useful.

But given Africa’s future role in global markets, there is a strong case for
this new body to be based in Cairo, Lagos, Nairobi or Cape Town, rather than in
London. Indeed, if it is not, there is a real risk that the digital
inequalities between Africa and the rest of the world will be exacerbated by
AI, not reduced or managed.

The time is now to be thinking these issues through – and planning ahead –
before AI really scales up on the continent, because by then, it will be too
late to pull back.”
