Hello all,
Before anything, I thank the FOSSGIS local chapter who kindly set up the
upload location for the media used.

As I am writing the AGM 2022 video is in the uploading process to youtube.
I will give a final review before I publish, basically to find key
locations to have a link menu on the Youtube video.

This year was everything kind of "last minute" where minute = 20 days.
So, I consider it like the rc1 video.
When I return from FOSS4G I will continue adding media to the video with
the idea that the final release video will be due on the last days of
September.
I will be in FOSS4G and if you are also going to FOSS4G and want to make
your audio/video media minute, I will be at the code sprint on Sunday or
look for me during the week. I will have an USB for storage.

Hello all
Friday report & plan for Saturday.

About 90% of the sections are ready to be processed to create the final
video.
I am waiting for some media, like the one for pgRouting, which is
understandable as Vicky has teflon memory.
I have to run some errands in my morning, so I will work on building the
AGM video tomorrow at around 5pm GMT, (noon Mexico's time)
If you upload last minute media between now and then, please let me know in
a comment on the slide.
I will keep you posted on the upload to youtube status.

 Hello all,

Comments on the slides is the way to keep track of the asynchronous
work we are all doing on the slides/video.
I really appreciate all the effort you made, especially the time you
took from your personal life, this last weekend to have video or audio
 ready.
I will start building the video in smaller videos by
 sections/subsections.
Think of the title slides, they break up to sections.

All these sectionized videos will be glued together by saturday.

I will be following the current slide order, but, when I process the
 project's subsections
 community project's subsection
 local chapters section
I will be moving slides reflecting the order that the video has,
leaving the skipped slides last in the order, so if during the week more
audio/video are uploaded then they will be appended on the corresponding
section video and the slide will be moved to reflect the position on the
 video.
By doing this, it allows last minute video/audio submissions of
video/audio to be appended rather quickly.

There is lots of work to be done, and I will start with sections that
are if not 100% ready, very close.
In the comments you will find:
 "Added to section video"

Please, continue making your video/audio, the link for uploading will
be up for last minute submissions during the week.
I think the way we are working allows that.

 Regards.
 Vicky

Thursday update:

For your information, my trip to Florence starts on Monday at 7am, I do
need Sunday to pack, therefore the video needs to be uploaded to the
youtube channel by saturday.
Doing the video, especially this size, over 1:30 min long, requires a lot
of computer resources which my laptop does not have, so I can not work on
it in the hotel.
Besides doing the video, I have been doing the recording of many of the
slides.
I do extremely appreciate the media that has been uploaded.

I really need your cooperation, at least have the slide.
Remember, the slide will be allotted 20 seconds on the video.

Who needs to have the report slide and media (besides the ones from the
board):
All OSGeo committees and all OSGeo projects.

Events, Community projects, local chapters, initiatives are in a voluntary
basis.

What I plan to do today:
I want to finish all the compulsory sections, I could try to do magic and
browse around and look for the information to finish the slides, but if
someone has a bit more time that I have now, maybe could do that magic.
In terms of slide numbers, I am on slide 60 of 177 potential slides, I say
potential because many are not updated yet.
So, compulsory section ends at slide 93, which is today's goal.
Hopefully I can finish more than that.

Please upload your media, audio/video and let me know that you did it,
posting a message on the slide comment.

Regards
Vicky

 Hi all,
I started capturing the slides to use them on the video.
Note that I only capture slides that are not hidden (skipped slide in
 google terms).
A hidden slide means that it can not be captured yet.
Unhide the slide (unskip) when you are done, so that I can capture it.
The status of the work I am doing is mentioned in a comment for each
 slide.

"Slide captured for video" or alike, I have captured the slide
"Recording created" or alike, I made a recording, normally I am doing
that on slides that have titles.
"Found xxx.mp3 or yyy.mp4" or alike, is I found the voice/video
recording that was uploaded using [1]
"Added to video" or alike, which will start to appear next week. well
its been added to the video

Using comment, on a slide by slide basis, you can find the status of
 the video progress.

I started to capture the slides that have been marked as completed.
That capture will be used on the video.

I thank GRASS, OSGeo France for being the first ones to upload the
 video for the AGM video.

Please keep an eye on your slide comments to see the status.
 For example
On GRASS there are 2 comments:

Today I started building some sections, basically the sponsor sections and
the event section.
Getting the grasp of the software again.
Tomorrow I will take the day off, as the weekend was very busy with so many

Please upload your media to the link [1]

AGM presentation status and plans.

Hello all,

Comments on the slides is the way to keep track of the asynchronous work we
are all doing on the slides/video.
I really appreciate all the effort you made, especially the time you took
from your personal life, this last weekend to have video or audio ready.
I will start building the video in smaller videos by sections/subsections.
Think of the title slides, they break up to sections.

All these sectionized videos will be glued together by saturday.

I will be following the current slide order, but, when I process the
project's subsections
community project's subsection
local chapters section
I will be moving slides reflecting the order that the video has, leaving
the skipped slides last in the order, so if during the week more
audio/video are uploaded then they will be appended on the corresponding
section video and the slide will be moved to reflect the position on the
video.
By doing this, it allows last minute video/audio submissions of video/audio
to be appended rather quickly.

There is lots of work to be done, and I will start with sections that are
if not 100% ready, very close.
In the comments you will find:
"Added to section video"

Please, continue making your video/audio, the link for uploading will be up
for last minute submissions during the week.
I think the way we are working allows that.

Regards.
Vicky

AGM 2022 presentation/video status.

Hi all,
I started capturing the slides to use them on the video.
Note that I only capture slides that are not hidden (skipped slide in
google terms).
A hidden slide means that it can not be captured yet.
Unhide the slide (unskip) when you are done, so that I can capture it.
The status of the work I am doing is mentioned in a comment for each slide.

"Slide captured for video" or alike, I have captured the slide
"Recording created" or alike, I made a recording, normally I am doing that
on slides that have titles.
"Found xxx.mp3 or yyy.mp4" or alike, is I found the voice/video recording
that was uploaded using [1]
"Added to video" or alike, which will start to appear next week. well its
been added to the video

If you need to change the slide after its been captured but before its been
added to the video, you can still do so:
Just make a comment addressed to me directly:
"@vicky ... Slide needs recapture"

If you organized an event/code sprint, I have a sections with all the
events/code sprints that happened after FOSS4G 2021,
just find the slide that has the announcement, and add a new slide after it.
Let us know your event!

Regards
Vicky

[OSGeo-Discuss] OSGeo AGM 2022 event

2022-07-18 Thread Vicky Vergara via Discuss
Hello OSGeo Community!

We would like to invite you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) during
FOSS4G on Friday, August 26 2022 from 15:30h to 17h UTC.

We are happy to meet you all, face to face, at our global FOSS4G conference
again.

For 2022, we are continuing with last year’s concept. We would like to
publish the OSGeo annual update as a video, in advance of the AGM on the
OSGeo Youtube channel. This way, we will have time for an open discussion
during the AGM slot at FOSS4G. Thus, all local chapters, projects,
committees and initiatives are invited to prepare a short audio or video of 1
minute to present their status report, updates, COVID-19 impact,
achievements and future plans.

Your AGM video is going to be one minute of fame and shine for our
community, so don't let it pass! It is important for all of us to know what
is happening everywhere. OSGeo is huge and this is the best way to get a
