Agreed! Arne we did capture the individual page examples here (
https://github.com/OSGeo/osgeo/tree/master/marketing/collateral/presentation/template).
Perhaps you can use those as a background for the different template pages?

presentation template with the new branding for Reveal would be very welocme -
we use it a lot but we did not have time to incorporate the branding elements

Re: [OSGeo-Discuss] completed branding and collateral materials are now in github

2017-09-28 Thread Jody Garnett
There are a couple reasons to use GitHub - none of them great.

When uDig was using gitorious that many visitors would follow GitHub
instructions and get confused. GitHub one market share by having better
docs, and now it is assumed.

When GeoServer was still on OSGeo SVN we maintained an official GitHub
mirror to collect contributions from developers. I got the impression that
they would only search GitHub for source code, and if we did not have a
presence people would fork off from developers personal repositories.

None of those factors apply for marketing material, except for perhaps the
pull request workflow (and many contributors having a GitHub presence
already).

I have not been terribly impressed with GitHub culture with respect to
diversity, and would love to see increased competition in this area. They
at least provide a diversity report, but that is by no means impressive.

I have experience in Scribus, so you (or anybody else) can request me…

In addition, I was thinking about to create a OSGeo presentation template for
Reveal.JS if someone want to use it…
You can take a look at http://lab.hakim.se/reveal-js/

No worries :)

Actually we have done "working groups" for short term task based things
like "sponsorship", same deal - just volunteers :)

If anyone on the discussion list catches anything we missed please let us know

Re: [OSGeo-Discuss] completed branding and collateral materials are now in github

2017-09-26 Thread Jody Garnett
Thanks Marc, if you can check in on the marketing committee list we have a
motion in progress to review and accept this material.

If anyone on the discussion list catches anything we missed please let us
know before this "sign-off" motion closes on Monday Oct 2nd. We would like
to be respectful of everyone's time (this review has taken three weeks :-D
).

[OSGeo-Discuss] completed branding and collateral materials are now in github

2017-09-22 Thread Jody Garnett
In this weeks meeting we have received the complete branding and collateral
material which I have had a chance to place in github:

https://github.com/OSGeo/osgeo

Please have a look, the marketing committee is reviewing this material for
sign-off.

Highlights
- styleguide-osgeo.pdf

showing
how everything fits together
- print -
contains everything that was ready to print for foss4g, including our
multi-page brochure and the one-page information hand outs produced by our
project teams.
- social media

-
with collateral for facebook, twitter and linkined, and an example of
trying the templates for osgeo japan

- logo
and subbrands
 -
keep in mind many of these are examples which were not used

If you have any skill with InkScape, Scribus or LibreOffice the marketing
committee would love to request your help reviewing, adapting and applying
this content for community use.
