Player Settings - Audio - Audio Startup Time can introduce a delay: Audio Startup Time Some audio receivers and D/A converters need a little extra time to start decoding audio from the player when playing back MP3 audio. You can specify how much time, in seconds, to wait after pressing play to start sending MP3 audio. The default value is 0, a value of 0.25 seconds works for many receivers. Tristan Wrote: Hang on though I could string the sound out to the input on my laptop im typing this from coudn't I and then transfer the file to the server? Yes, and then just record the stream using the application of your choice. 'Audacity' (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) can do this, for example, and save to a whole range of file formats. Regarding the quality, unfortunately, this will vary quite a bit. The sound coming in is analog so it will have to be digitized, and this can be done well or very poorly. Since it's analog, it will be susceptible to electrical noise as well. It's also going through Windows' wonderful audio mixer that does all sorts of great things to it. :-P For a laptop, you can get outboard USB sound cards. The best cards will be PCI cards from professional sound companies like M-Audio - the Delta 44, Audiophile 192 and Audiophile 2496, for example. Some of these cards have digital in, which will eliminate electrical noise as well as the impact of digitizing. -- Mark Lanctot Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26338 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

You could add the shows to the My Picks editor plugin... The plug-in stores the show url's in an OPML file which you can access at any time. From a user perspective, you would browse to Internet Radio, My Picks, Nugs.net Shows, show you want to listen to.mp3. I have tested this with the Hot Mama show, and it works like a breeze. However, this will not work if the MP3 names are changed with each show. Then you would need a fixed playlist url to point to. Sean, just for the sake of discussion I too have a similar problem, but ONLY on start up of the first song played after turning the player on. SB3. The first 1/2 second or so of the song is cut off. All songs played after that play just fine no matter how I play them.search, browse, playlist etc. This also happens if Pandora is the first thing to be played after the SB3 is turned on. I have thought about it being my pre amp too, could be I guess. I have tried turning the pre amp on and off while leaving the SB3 on and the problem does not occur so I really think that it's the SB3. And not that it's a huge problem, just a bit annoying.
