[slim] Netradio on Slimserver 6.3.1
Hi, I am running Slimserver 6.3.1 on my DiskStation. When I tune in to this 128 kbps radiostation http://www.dr.dk/netradio/Metafiler/asx/dr_p3_128.asx it only streams at 32 kbps. If I switch to Slimserver 6.5.4 (running on my desktop) the same radiostation streams at 128 kbps. Is there a known problem with internetradio on Slimserver 6.3.1 ? The same radiostation also streams at this URL: http://www.dr.dk/netradio/Metafiler/pls/dr_p3_128.pls For some reason this link dont work at all. Can somebody help me with a workaround? [slim] SSODS tab is gone after firmware upgrade and ssods 2.18
Yesterday I've upgraded my DS107+ with the Synology firmware Version: v2.0.3 - 0509; Date: 2007/08/21 After that I upgraded with Flipflip's ssods-2.18-armv5tejl.zip and got the correct error 42 as written in the readme pdf ( in the header is still written 2.17) In the DS admin interface is no SSoDS panel under networking, even when I use Firefox. The ssods-fix.pat gives also the correct error 42, but no result. Do I something wrong? Re: [slim] Netradio on Slimserver 6.3.1
As the URLs are the same I think the problem is the reporting of the speed rather than speed of the connection itself as there was a big change in the handling of WMA streams between 6.5 and 6.3. Did you check the network statistics the volume of data being received/sec ? I think 6.5 has a problem parsing pls playlist for Internetradio - I've seen this with AlienBBC's handling of the DR stations. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37834 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Prevent taking cover art from ID3v2
Hi! Can I prevent Slimserver taking cover art from ID3v2? I have only thumbnails in my MP3s for my portable player, but also cover.jpg and thumb.jpg in the album directories. Since I added the cover art into the ID3v2 tags Slimserver doesn't show any cover art at all. On the first page in browse albums it shows the question mark thumb on a black background. On the other pages it shows no icon at all, only a text link. The albums that have no cover art at all show the normal question mark thumb. I tried a full wipe and rescan with no luck. I also manually entered cover.jpg and thumb.jpg into the configuration page - also no luck after a full wipe and rescan. Re: [slim] Security Settings in Slimserver Webinterface
A previous post on a similar topic suggested the following - assuming you are using Windows on your PC? If you haven't already done so, you will need SSH installed on the QNAP from http://www.progressiveav.com/ts101_update/ or an updated version for a 201? Get a copy of WinSCP: http://winscp.net/eng/index.php Just the Standalone Application (.exe) will do. Login via WinSCP, username: root password: admin [Hostname will probably be slimserver-01 but I can't confirm this for a TS201] When the WinSCP runs it will give you a split window as default, on one side your default PC folder. On the other the QNAP linux install. Navigate to the previously mentioned folder and double click on the slimserver.pref file. This will open an editor. Somewhere near the bottom is an entry for security settings, or just delete the file (but you will lose all your settings). If you change anything, don't forget to save before exiting the editor. -- Siduhe Siduhe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=723 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37823 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Network capability question
Two quick questions before I purchase... will this device utilize a SlimServer across a routed boundary? Most of these types of devices seem to expect that the server will be on the same sub-network as the player. I want to be able to designate the server and have the device find it through a router. My wireless network is not the same sub-network as my server. And - does the SlimServer work on Windows 2003 server? It even works across the Internet... (of course on the wild internet bandwidth and security could be an issue...) The only thing that won't work is the autodiscovery of the server that needs UDP broadcast to work. If you set the server IP manually, you are fine. I of course don't care exactly how it's done (plugin vs native, etc.) but it seems like, as with a lot of other things, every provider of a streaming music solution has its own server ideas and technology. So my server is running TiVo's server and Onkyo's NetTune and now Slim, etc. etc. etc. So my request was really more of wishful thinking regarding a single source for serving, since Win2k3 won't run Windows Media Player 10 or greater, so my PS3 is out of the loop on music services (since the damn thing won't reach across routed boundaries for servers). [slim] Release of Beta Development Kits for Squeezebox Jive Target Hardware Platform
A few months ago, we announced a beta release of the Jive software platform, which was designed to power advanced remote control applications for Squeezebox and Transporter. Today, we are announcing that we have shipped beta development kits of the target hardware platform for Squeezebox Jive to selected developers of the Slim Devices/Logitech open source community. The target hardware platform consists of a remote-control form factor with a color screen, and uses a version of embedded Linux running on an ARM processor. This is a release of a development platform to our community so they can continue their contributions to the Jive software platform, and not a product announcement. It is Logitechs policy not to discuss future hardware plans. Please feel free to discuss the new hardware platform in the forums and update the wiki at http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?Jive. The source code repository has been updated to include everything needed to create software for the target hardware platform, so ... check it out!
