Re: [slim] Zonealarm crashes Slimserver!
Steve, I assume your SB and PC are on the same internal network. If that's the case you do not need to open ports on the router. In the ZoneAlarm you should add the ip range of your internal network (probably 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.255) as a trusted zone. -- y360 y360's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10150 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37809 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] SS not coming up in IE7, bug?
The doubleclick is handled by SlimTray.exe so the problem may be Slimtray or the file it reads. SlimTray will only launch SC when SlimTray believes it is running (i.e. blue writing on the SlimTray icon) and if the TCP port as specified by httpport in the prefs file is open. Check the file SlimServer Web Interface.url and see if it has a valid URL and a port number that matches httpport in the prefs file. Also check access to this file. I think you should open a bug if it is reproducible and recurs after a complete re-installation (i.e. no prefs retained). It may be systems setup issues but to a user it is a problem. There have a been sporadic postings of similar problems which may be related. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38972 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Unable to play any playlists through Squeezebox/Slimserver 6.5.4
Hi Siduhe, My D: drive is a local drive. I've tried relative paths and absolute ones... it didn't matter. The M3U that the SlimServer's GUI created used absolute paths, but it also used strange formatting which didn't seem to include carriage returns... the entire M3U wraps, which Winamp's or Media Player's M3U's look neat and orderly. Songs names are cut short due to a 30 char limit, but the filenames are intact. My server setting to find music is D:\Backup\My Music. It scans, finds and plays music just fine. Believe me... I've manually tried several different ways of formatting the path statement in the hopes that SlimServer finds the contents of my M3U's... all of which have been fruitless, with the exception for the weirdly formatted Slim GUI-created M3U. I recently upgraded my machine to a 4core XP box. All works well but when I try to rescan my collection the scanner runs for an hour or so and then crashes. Fortunately I usually navigate by music folder but sometime you forget where something is and a search is useful. Is there a way to run the scanner and catch its debug somewhere? [slim] Powered speakers or midi system?
Heya all, I've recently invested in my now loved SB3. Needless to say it's possibly the best gadget related purchase I've ever made! Anyway, at the moment I have it running through an aged and underused cheapo Acoustic Solutions SP101 system which I picked up on a whim in Argos a couple of years ago... It works fine, obviously, but there's a distinct lack of bass (probably due to the nature of the best) and the amp takes up far too much room in the limited room space I have. The system is used in my bedroom which measures 5m by 5m. So, I'm caught between purchasing some Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 powered speakers (I already use a set for my PC and they're superb - and the SB3 sounds brilliant through them) and some sort of midi hi-fi system - probably either the Onkyo CR515DAB or Denon DM35DAB with some quality bookshelf speakers (possibly Q Acoustic 1010's). I'm basically in search of the best sound, but with a keen eye on cost and space taken. Could anyone offer any advice please as to which route is the best one to take? I realise neither option satisfies audiophilia by the way, I just don't have the money, or space, or requirement really, for a more advanced setup.
