Re: [slim] Accessing SqueezeCentre installed on WHS
I suspected exactly the same (name resolution)... first tried IP address directly in the browser (worked), then name (worked - ?). So then I went back to the saved link on my desktop, edited it for IP address, wouldn't work. Then saved a new link on my desktop - it now works. Re: [slim] Audioengine 5
Club1820;273737 Wrote: Mark, can you clarify the finish on the A2s. Glossy Black or Matte Satin? I ask because I originally bought the A5s but found they were just too big for the desk. Although they sounded great and wanted to keep them - they would be used on my wife's desk so it was a no go. I replaced them with the A2s, which also sound good. But the A2s came with the Audioengine logo on the front/bottom of the speaker. Which I think just looks terrible (nothing against the logo). It just takes away from the clean, sleek look. On the webpage they dont have the logo. The A5s didnt have the logo either. I emailed support and they said the logo is new and the webpage hasnt been updated. They said they changed the finish on the A2s from glossy black to Matte Satin because the glossy black was easily scratched. They gave me the option of switching for the glossy black without the logo since they still had a few in stock. So which did you have on the A2s, glossy or satin? and did yours have the logo? Thanks. Keep in mind, both speakers were the dealer's demo speakers because he can't keep these in stock! So it might be old stock and they might have been bashed around a little by customers less careful than I. The A2s were glossy black, a finish like the new SB3 IR remote. It did have the Audioengine logo right on the front above the bass port. I would have preferred it didn't, but it didn't look that bad, just a little large. The A5s were matte black. I found the fit and finish rather poor, there was a lighter grey ring around the woofer which had ragged, uneven edges in places. And the volume knob on the front felt and looked very cheap, it felt like it wasn't on flush and at a slight angle (i.e. not entirely parallel to the housing). Both were very good in terms of sound though, and that's the most important part to me. -- Mark Lanctot Ben Klass: I won't even eat a pre-7.0 meal. Well, unless it involves bacon. this is an excellent idea. I think the current FF/REW is the poorest part of the system. On my SB3 the loud cracking and jumping that often happens makes it virtually unusable. Re: [slim] Live show help in Squeezecenter
SqueezeCenter sorts using the ARTISTSORT and TITLESORT tags (I think I've remembered correctly - check to make sure, though) in preference to the ARTIST and TITLE tags you normally see. I suspect you could set these with the year first to allow the sorting behaviour you want, while maintaining the display format you also want. It seems just like displaying Miles Davis but sorting on Davis Miles to me. Hope I've not completely misunderstood your question! Re: [slim] Live show help in Squeezecenter
Most applications can't sort the way you request using the date format you specify. Almost all algoritms sort starting with the first character and then second and so on. This is pretty logical since that is how sorting should be done. What you actually ask for is that there is a sort method for every date format. Not an unusual request. I believe the data is stored in a single database column so it is actually up to MySQL for providing the ability to sort like you would like. Don't know if this is possible. The US uses the .MM.DD format. It's just easier to read and sort. But us europeans often use a DD.MM. format. Re: [slim] Duet ETA?
Hey Guys, Unfortunately we will not be able to pull off shipping these out by today. Please see my announcement at the top of every forum for the details, but basically we hope to ship before next Friday. We might even be able to start getting them out as early as Monday. Also everyone that placed their order before I changed the date on the website will get an upgrade to Next Day Air, or Worldwide Express. Sorry for the delay! [slim] Holy updates, Batman!
My squeezebox has recently decided that it needs to download new firmware nearly every time it starts up. My server is a dual boot (linux/windows) so each update wants to download twice anyway, but each OS has forced three updates, making SIX updates in total. All that in just the last two weeks. Oh, and prior to this I hadn't seen a firmware update in ages .. like more than a year. Is there something wrong with my device, or are you guys really pushing truckloads of updates? FWIW: Updates significatnly lower the Wife Approval Rating. -- pards pards's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15764 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44007 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Help? Button push - strange pattern display
Hi, all. I could use some help. One of my children was playing with the remote to my SB3 and must have held down a button or something while turning it on. The result is that I now get the Logitech splash logo and then a right to left scrolling pattern that looks like a test pattern for the unit's display. It consists of a series of stacked boxes of different brightness levels followed by some vertical stripes of different widths and some diagonal stripes. I would appreciate any guidance on how to get back to normal. You have different software versions between your 2 OSs. Check the Firmware directory and you'll see why.
