If you get the support message when entering a PIN, you need to contact
them and give them your MAC address.

[slim] SqueezeNetwork Login

2009-03-08 Thread vamythguy
Are there any known issues/work-arounds with registering your SB's on the
SqueezeNetwork? I may be mixing terms - I can listen to Pandora through my
SB, but when I go to SqueezeNetwork and try to register my player (hoping to
be able to control it from my laptop), I bounces me to Squeeze support.
Just curious if this is a known issue with any known resolutions.

Re: [slim] After upgrading java, I cant install Softsqueeze

2009-03-08 Thread vespa

I had trouble with Softsqueeze also and finally read the error message
pointing to jflac-1.2.jar which I found to be corrupted. I wonder if
the latest ipkg Squeezecenter has this file corrupted?

Anyway, I downloaded the Softsqueeze source from Logitech and took that
file out with winrar, copied it to the NAS, and then from a telnet
session moved it from /mnt/something/something/share/ to
/something/something/something/something/something/something/something/EN/html/EN/html/EN/html/EN/html/EN/html/something/something/.

To find the exact location, type:
cd /
find -name jflac-1.2.jar

then: cp /whatever/file.jar /over/there

Re: [slim] Fun with Alarm Playlists: Listen to News and Music from around the World

2009-03-08 Thread ericj

It is just a playlist, which would go with your other playlists, as
configured in basic settings. This file is called something like
morning.m3u but playlists could be also .pls files, or just something
you construct and save. When you set an alarm, just set this to be the
playlist that works.
Good luck...

As long as you're willing to use a computer to control it, the WaveInput

control the playback from a computer other than your server.

Plugins on SN are technically possible, because SN is really just a
bunch of computers out on the internet running SC. But here's the
catch: how do you decide *which* plugins to include? Every different
user has his/her own ideas about which are the most important plugins.
And after deciding which plugins to support, you need to allow per-user
customization. Like I said, it's not technically insurmountable at all,
but there are a few devils in the details to consider.

I am pretty sure there's an enhancement request for plugins on SN.
Search for it in bugs.slimdevices.com, and if you find it, vote for it.

Re: [slim] Key length WPA2 on SB3

2009-03-08 Thread radish

WPA keys can be represented as either a string of 64 hex characters or a
passphrase of 8-63 ASCII characters. Most devices use the latter
representation, and the SB will only accept that form. I just looked at
the dir-635 emulator and it certainly looks as if you can enter your own
passphrase (on the wireless settings page)

[slim] Key length WPA2 on SB3

2009-03-08 Thread Shamrock

Hello,

I'm trying to configure my SB3 to my wireless network. D-Link Dir635
router.
When chosing the pre shared key for WPA encryption on the router, it
gives me a 64 characters key.
On my SB3 there is only space for 63 characters.

Any ideas for a soution?

The SB-family is really designed for an always-on network. It works in
other configurations, but not really that well. That's the whole point

Re: [slim] Slightly O.T. Network Problem

2009-03-08 Thread norderney

I have tried turning off my Firewall in Norton 360, and my Lap Top will
connect to the network with my Firewall switched off.

When I switched Firewall back on again, I LOST the network connection.
So it must be something to do with the Firewall. I have checked the
Firewall settings but I cannot see what could be causing this to
happen.

Any ideas?

[slim] Slightly O.T. Network Problem

2009-03-08 Thread norderney

Toshiba Lap Top Equium A200 running Windows Vista Home Edition.
Dell Dimension 9200 PC running Windows vista Ultimate.
Netgear DG834 Wireless ADSL Router.

Sorry if this is O.T., but I have a rather strange network problem. I
can no longer access my Dell PC via my Toshiba Lap Top, BUT I CAN still
access the SqueezeCentre web interface on my Lap Top! Squeeze
Centre runs on my Dell PC.

I can access and see Lap Top drive C from my Dell PC.

I cannot PING my Lap Top from my Dell PC.

But I CAN PING my Dell PC from Lap Top.

2 days ago I replaced McAffee Security with Norton 360 on my Dell PC.
I did this because I was having problems running SqueezeCentre.
McAffee was causing the SC web interface problems, and I was unable to
configure the McAffee software. Since switching to Norton 360,
SqueezeCentre web interface is working fine.

My Transporter is working fine.

My Lap Top & Dell PC are able to access the Internet without any
problems, and the SqueezeCentre web interface works fine on BOTH Dell
PC and Lap Top.

I would have thought if my lap Top was not connecting to my Dell PC
then the SC web interface would not run properly on it.
