[slim] Carols froms King's BBC R4 HD
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols http://www.kings.cam.ac.uk/events/chapel-services/nine-lessons.html is broadcast today at 3pm GMT on BBC's R4: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/nine-lessons-and-carols/ and this will be broadcast in HD (320kbps), as well. While I can get R4 at 128 AAC using Triode's iPlayer plug-in, I don't seem to see any HD listings in the 'station list' under 'listen live'. Should I be able to see an HD variant of the program, or does that not show up until the broadcast starts? I'm using version 1.1.21 of the iPlayer plugin. (I've a secondary problem, too; for some reason I cannot see the complete plug-in list, including all the 3rd party plug-ins, and neither can I see whether - for example - I ought to update the iPlayer plug-in to receive the HD stream. I must have done something silly, could anyone point me to how I display 'all' the plug-ins available, and be able to check for plug-in updates?) regards, Atlantic -- Atlantic Atlantic's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44239 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92544 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

JJZolx;678883 Wrote: Here's another bit of strangeness. The player actually 'sees' the announced server on the remote network. I run several different servers on the network (although only one is running at the moment) and just changed the port forwarding to point at a different one. Each server has a unique name and when I'm presented the menu to select a server I can see the new name along with the IP address of the remote server that I set up. Trying to connect to that one doesn't work at all... neither the server or SqueezePlay connect to each other and I can't control SP from the web UI. I had the same thing happening, it sees the name of the library but would never connect. It turns out UDP packets weren't being forwarded for 3483. Enabling them, fixed it right up. Re: [slim] Using SqueezePlay remotely
I just installed Wireshark on the server and see the UDP 3483 packets coming in and being sent. Wireshark indicates that the outgoing packets have bad header checksums, but I see that on every packet coming from the server, including those from TCP port 9000. Says maybe caused by IP checksum offload, which I a believe just means that the packet checksums are computed and set later by the NIC instead of the CPU. -- JJZolx JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92496 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] SqueezeCenter running, but no browser access @ 9000?!
Hi, I've been away from SlimServer (I mean SqueezeCenter) and may have missed out on some magical step to get the web part of SqueezeCenter up and running. I am wondering if any here can fill me in on why I can not simply point a browser at port 9000 on the computer running the server and pull up the SqueezeCenter web page (like I have always been able to do in the past). The server is a Debian box. For those who know about Linux, the uname -a command produces this: ... 2.6.30-1-686 #1 SMP Sat Aug 15 19:11:58 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux The Debian box is freshly rebooted and I checked to see if the SqueezeCenter process was autonomously started: 122 9657 0.0 0.0 2748 1192 ?S10:25 0:00 /bin/bash /usr/sbin/squeezecenter_safe /usr/sbin/squeezecenter-serv Ok, all is looking very good. Now I'll just point a web browser from another computer at it and... Unable to connect, Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.10.123:9000. Ha! What happened? The process is running - why is there no web page??? Maybe something is wrong w/the web server on that machine! Ok, try the machine's IP w/o any port (i.e. use the default http port): It works! Yep, that's the default message you get from the web server when it is working. So it's something else. Probably something different about SqueezeCenter. That or SqueezeCenter is broken.
